pretty sure the smoke cost AN yesterday and probably a normal at least west of the city today. ACATT kind of got lucky here. ... does that mean 'all cold all the time' ? I have trouble keeping up with the acronyms around here -

That area in the Bahamas east of Florida is looking better and better. Models not showing much with it but I think the Gulf states might be in for a Surprise.

How you figure the smoke is keeping temps down? yesterday was 88F with same smoke

It will be the hottest August on record. Possibly top 5, most likely top 10…and definitely top 20.

70s is okay, 60s is way too cold. Extended summer into fall isn't about 90s, but temperatures in the 80s in September and 70s in October. I don't want any 60s before November.
