Actually moderate, but I will take 3-4. That seems to be the high end for here.

December 14th - Snow showers or Plowable snow?
tavwtby replied to Sey-Mour Snow's topic in New England
might be some sublimation issues north where it's cold up there under the DGZ, we'll see if we can get a good burst of nice rates and accumulate a couple/three inches. -

THIS! Tomorrow will be brutal. The January fronts like this one will be even more brutal. -

It was an unmitigated disaster in the last 10 minutes. I'm sure Rust will be reliving hitting the post with an empty net, but up 2 goals still at that point it shouldn't have been necessary to score anyways. -

Liking the latest HRRR runs. Has 4" here with the heavy band still ongoing at the end of the run.

moneypitmike replied to Sey-Mour Snow's topic in New England
I suspect one mitigating factor on accumulations is that while it will be fluffy snow, it's a small amount of qpf over a fairly long period. I think that might make for some reduction as compared to it being 3" over 4 hours, e.g. Those lower rates will eat away at the depth somewhat. -
Holy South RAP. A couple more runs and there'll be snow in Charleston.

I know I seen a lot of 2013 analogs for this winter. Knoxville did really well In January. I remember a 2 week stretch with brutal cold and multiple events. . -
A bit off topic, but Euro is bringing thru an area of lt snow Monday night with some small accumulations.

The GFS definitely expands the NNE morale to the rest of the region. Fingers crossed!

12/14: Sunday funday? Will the south win again?
SnowenOutThere replied to TSSN+'s topic in Mid Atlantic
Dunno if anyone posted the RAP but it looks pretty good for all of us -
Very nice day. It felt good to get outside. I even took the fly rod down to the pond near my house just to see if the bass were biting (they weren’t). I figured that’d be the case with the cold water temps but this warmup should get them stirring again. I might have to take a trip up the mountain to do a little trout fishing.
