  3. I'm not sure how you interpret my compsites in that manner. It's not a KU cookbook, no....
  4. This one has a good shot of becoming our third consecutive major. It’s looking well on its way to being designated a TC in the next 24 hours.
  5. I don't exactly "hate" the 1970 and 2007 analogs, either.
  6. Who needs AC when it’s **checks Davis** 70.0° outside?
  7. it's been mostly sunny here all day but now the clouds are coming in
  8. I used to take the A train from Far Rockaway that was an absolutely amazing ride, going right along Jamaica Bay with the water almost coming up to the train tracks. Trains that travel in tunnels are very depressing though.
  9. I think so too, it was absolutely alarming to have thousands of people suffocate to death like that. low grade coal is even more insidious than Jack the Ripper

  11. I don't recall Queens ever not being a traffic cesspool
  12. I was just thinking the same thing as I sit in the traffic cesspool that Queens has become
  13. I saw photos over the weekend of the pond across from the Willey House in Crawford Notch and its basically dry. Never seen that before.

  15. I’m jealous…looks like a cloudy day start to finish here.
  16. Out at Rehoboth Beach for a few days. Was warm yesterday. It is absolutely jungle like today. Glad we did most of our walking yesterday. Although the 4 mile bike ride this morning after breakfast left us dripping in sweat.
  17. It is just down right oppressive outside. Did it even rain overnight?
  18. Not sure what intensity exactly Ragasa was at when it made landfall. Maybe a low-end Cat 3? According to Wikipedia, the Chinese coast saw impressively high wind speeds/gusts: ”At 12:00 CST on September 24 the coastal city of Jiangmen experienced its highest wind speed ever recorded at 67 m/s (220 ft/s), equivalent to 241 km/h (150 mph).”
  19. I have to say, if you're a snow hater in sne or the mid atlantic it's been an amazing string of years! Pattern looks to continue.
  20. It's likely that Typhoon Ragasa was at 95 knots when it passed near Hong Kong. The wind gusts topped out at 66 knots at Hong Kong Airport.
