I will be releasing my 2026 Summer and Atlantic Hurricane Season Outlooks this afternoon! The developing El Niño should temper tropical storm and hurricane activity this season, but it only takes one. Expect a “backend” summer with hotter and drier conditions from July-September.

Yeah yeah, all that.

Meanwhile, today? Chamber of Commerce.

Interesting...normal hight for today is 77. Today's high locally was 77.

It's very windy and I'm sitting out in an open high school football stadium, and the temp is 64 here, so to me, and my thyroid induced chill, I'd rather it be warmer and less windy.

Well - If Elliott from MU is right, we're looking at 25-35 days of temps in the 90s from July right through September. Plenty of heat is coming. More heat than normal, actually.

All I know is that its May 28th, high school graduation, and I'm freezing wearing a thermal shirt under a long sleeve polo and a medium weight jacket.

I'm not amused.

My sociopath of a child (four) has had one thing on his mind the past month: Swimming. His grandparents have an above-ground pool that was opened and cleaned out earlier in the month. Today is May 28th and I can report he has dragged me to his grandparent's pool the last two days and into ice cold water.

I have long held one criterion for what constitutes a good May: "Did I swim?"

Against my better judgement, I guess it's been a good May.

Yes, I'm sure you know more than subject matter experts...

when we have weeks of wet weather and even have water pooling on my grass in my back yard for a day or 2 after the rain. esp when the map hardly changes at all or stays the same.

Recent rainfall has resulted in a reduction of drought conditions (D0-D2) over the past week across the southeastern portion of Pennsylvania
Additional improvement will be very marginal going into early June with very little to no rainfall forecast

43 for the low this morning. Beautiful weather if we could just rid of the wind.

35 mph wind gusts yesterday.

Saturday forecasting  30-45 mph wind gusts, guess we will see how that turns out.

Enjoy the weekend weather!

Edit: Still mowing my grass twice a week. 11 mows this season, about the same as last year.

I wonder if we'll get reports out of Harrisburg on the wind tomorrow? I can do without the wind.

Some outstanding weather on the way for much of the next week. We will stay a few degrees below normal until maybe warming up close to average temperatures for June by next weekend. In fact here in East Nantmeal May will finish as the 6th below normal month over the last 8 months dating back to last October. Rain chances look slim to none over the next week.
