Below for the Philly burbs of Chester County PA are the all-time May climate records and below that the climate trends for the month. Based on the actual historical data (blue) our average May temperatures show a slight cooling trend since 1893 while the adjusted NCEI (red) temperatures indicate a very slight warming trendline.

Froze to death this morning/early afternoon as a wonderful feature of being here in the higher lands is the sun was out at this morning at 9:15 and 38°F felt nice.

By game time at 11:30 (after pictures and a parade) the clouds and wind arrived and 44°F was unbearable.

I fucking hate May.

Currently 37 degrees
Definitely some unsettled weather. Picked .15.” Of rain Friday.

Yesterday cool and windy 24 mph wind gust.

I got my coal stove back fired up this weekend. Constant 70 degrees is nice.

Smoked a couple of chuck roasts yesterday. Kind of got away from running the smoker over the winter.

Low to mid 80s Tuesday coming

Just a random one-off in this decrepit cold spell. I was just outside and needed my winter coat because in addition to the cold, the wind had to ramp up as well.

Another below normal temperature day on tap today before we see a brief warm up with some valley locations touching 80 degrees by Tuesday before we turn much chillier again by the end of the week. Highs by Thursday through Saturday may struggle to escape the upper 50's. Rain chances increase with a cold front by Tuesday night.

Taking a break from this thread. You all enjoy your complaining. April was a top 10 warmest ever but reading this thread we're in a relentless freezer.

Math ain't mathin folks

Sorry you feel that way, but it's about consistency. I don't need a torch, but I, like most people, don't really want frost and freeze warnings this time of year, nor windy -10+ to -15 daytime departures.

Give me 45/65 and I'm quite fine with that.

And another thing, and yes, I'm a bit feisty this morning, but what can make this forum unreadable at times isn't the complaining about heat or cold, but the sports (basketball) posts that litter this place up from time to time. Those belong in the banter thread.

Let us all know when you get back on. We'll have a backlog of posts attributed to the cool dismal weather we have been experiencing since you jumped ship.
