Sunday morning looks coldest in NYC metro most have seen in their lives… Once in 50 year level potential with this.

0F in CPK is conservative. The bias is to take UHI and +5 vs guidance but the in situ cold and winds will mitigate those affects.

Very relieved personally that the axis of cold is about 250 miles west of here. Binghamton NY flirting with -20F before wind chill is holy shit level cold for our latitude.

Also seeing that latest guidance keeps areas like binghamton, Albany and Syracuse NY sub zero all day Saturday…

I only got to -4° but I had to run an errand that took me through other parts of northern VT and I saw as low as -10° on the car thermo.  -6° when I passed the MVL ASOS around 8:00am

LGA probably doesn’t even break a record low min

It’ll be cold for sure though…especially west of us and into WNE. The core is pretty low and shallow…-20C to -22C at 925. So they could easily get well into the single digits.

OKX soundings had -25C and -26C at 925 for 2/4/23 12z and 2/14/16 12z respectively. Mins at Central Park were +3 and -1. LGA was +5 and +1.

MOS has mins of +7 with this right now.
