Ditto to the RIP! Did not know this either. I’m kinda in the same boat outside of winter. Unless there’s some crazy severe weather outbreak I don’t normally pop back in until mid to late fall when we can start seeing the monthlies of winter and long term outlook. Nice to see you posting though. I know you’ve been here for quite awhile as well.

Appreciate both of you guys as well as all of the other current and former old timers!!! I don't post as much as I give myself credit for knowing enough to be dangerous. I miss a bunch of the old timers with good amateur knowledge of weather situations. I went thru the time when newbies knew more than the pros and made sure that the pros knew it. Result was the pros said adios. I wish during big events like this that the powers that be could pin a discussion thread and set it so that only the more knowledgeable amateurs and pros would be allowed to post when crunch time hit. Anyway, enough of my sentimentality. Carry on...

Do you see the precip field to the west? emoji3059.png

.

the initial WAA thump was lighter... At 111 total snowfall is around a foot in the Triad before the flip

At 108, sleet line to NC/VA border. Taking on a more SW/NE trajectory versus 18z.

Brad P is one of the best in the business. I used to live off every model run and bought into many fantasy storms and extreme solutions that Brad never budged on..even when other mets bought the hype.   He nailed it everytime.  Some don't like his conservative forecasting but he calls it as it is.

It was a humbling reminder that most of us here are amateur fanatics and there is more to forecasting than flip flopping model runs.

So when he's bullish on a storm, there's something there.

Greenville/Spartanburg gets shut out completely with this run. 1.6" snow, and dry? Didn't see that coming since the Euro ghosted us

.

Haven't seen a sleet map posted but pretty sure GSP would have plenty of sleet this run.
