suzook
Looks like the wonderful dry weather is back. No rain in sight for the next couple of weeks, add some 90's to that too.
NorthHillsWx
Rain chances Wednesday (90% NWS yesterday) have completely evaporated. Yet another system drying up east of mountains. I said 1” for the month was a lock but have definitely jinxed it in Raleigh area, it looks dry as a bone going forward!

Yeah, not good the next week or so. May be entering a wetter period after that as the ridge breaks down

NorthHillsWx
I don’t see another chance for widespread rain until the 8-9 day timeframe which would ensure another 2+ week stretch here without measurable rain. After finishing April with well under 1” of rain (our 4th time in last 8 months) we will be sitting under 1” going into the last week of May! While I have certainly enjoyed the cooler weather, that pattern change in central NC did absolutely nothing to alleviate drought conditions here. UnionCountyNCWX
I take everything with a grain of salt, but I think I heard someone mention it in here in the past as well....im gonna miss being NAM'd.... in both good ways and bad lol 1
BooneWX
I’m going to miss having a model that could reliably sniff out thermals and CAD. I’ll never forget the coup it scored during the Jan 2025 storm when every model said I’d get several inches and the NAM said enjoy your sleet fest. About 2 hrs in, it went to pingers and never looked back.
wncsnow
I think we still need the NAM. Time to start a petition 5

NorthHillsWx
Latest drought monitor shows some improvement around the Charlotte area, SC and Georgia. Not much movement but probably the first time it’s trended positively in 6 months. This was expected as those are the areas that capitalized on the rainfall earlier this month. wncsnow
Late next week is trending drier again east of the Apps. Less than an inch of rain for many through 15 days.
NorthHillsWx
This is a good page WRAL put together to track rainfall at RDU: https://www.wral.com/weather/page/1934052/ Going back 6 months you can see all the months under 1” total for the month. Insane deficits and we’re going the wrong direction still
