It's one thing to experience summer onset drought after planting and growing season but during planrting and growing season is disastrous. Didn’t bother to go back and look at records but I do remember the family’s annual Myrtle Beach trip first week of June. Everyone was commenting on how unusual it was to be in the 90s. Don’t remember much about the rest of the summer except a lot of Boston, Frampton, Marshall Tucker, and Jimmy Buffet.

NorthHillsWx Posted yesterday at 01:57 PM Share Posted yesterday at 01:57 PM Very end of month continues to look like a breakdown of the ridge and much wetter pattern. I’ll believe it when it rains. Last system I was promised 1/2”-1” one day out and ended with the bare minimum to be considered measurable. Drought breeds drought and there has been a trend to dry out every system including our winter storms up until the moment they start. A pattern shift with multiple and repeated rain chances would be extremely welcomed though and honestly at this point beyond needed

It's rained twice in the last 2 months. Yes, twice. Add that to the dry fall and winter....yikes. Everyone around here has not had to mow their lawn/weeds yet. If they do, it's nothing but dust. NorthHillsWx
Raleigh said water restrictions will go into effect when falls lake dips to 85% capacity. As of two days ago it was at 87% which is well well below normal for this time of year when it is almost always kept at full pool. Matter of when not if now

Matter of when not if now I was late to party, stage 1 restrictions go into effect on Monday. Can only water once a week and it’s either Tuesday or Wednesday depending on address. Lake fell to 83% capacity over last couple days
