How many times has EWR hit 105 in their entire history? I know they did it twice in 1993 -- it was their previous highest temperature ever recorded.

I think when EWR hits 105, all 4 official sites around the city hit at least 100 -- EWR, NYC, LGA AND JFK ?  Every time it happened?

Year Rank Days >= 105 °F
1993 1 2
2011 2 1
2001 2 1
1966 2 1
1953 2 1
1949 2 1
1918 2 1
2025 8 0

1918 is pretty crazy considering how cold the 1917-18 winter and that era in general was!

So 1993 is the only year it happened twice, Tony?

Yes in recorded history according to this, it must be using the extended data set.

Nice drop from 93° to 84° here with the thunderstorm.

The Ambient station a couple blocks away from me dropped about 20 degrees in minutes with the heavy rain:

A shower out of nowhere but half the sky is clear

So hot it just had to do something

Enough sun tomorrow and less onshore - inland areas can get to 90.  Sunday looks wet/cloudy.

Damn you never made it to 100, I was pulling for you!

a high of 98?

It was 96 here and stayed around there through 4 PM until the clouds really moved in.

It's hard to read on that graph, but on the detailed look you can see it peaked at 99.9 lol no joke

that cant be real, Corona has the most artificial climate this side of an oven lol.

I don't trust temperatures measured near concrete, it's why I like near rooftop stations better.

It's all detached houses and lawns suburbia style where I am and it basically hit 100 here as well.
