ChescoWx
Yesterday was the 5th chilliest low maximum temperature for the date with highs remaining in the 60's at Atglen, West Grove and East Nantmeal and just past 70 degrees at most other locations. We should remain below normal today but with highs a good 8 to 10 degrees above yesterday. A great weather week ahead with temperatures at or a bit below normal for the first week of August. Low's this morning were in the 50's with the lowest at Warwick Twp. at 54.8 degrees. Lows continue in the 50's the next couple of nights with lows not too far from 60 for the rest of this week. So a great break for all of our A.C.'s.
ChescoWx
Overall across Chester County PA as if you had to be told it was a hot month! Our average temperature across the county was 77.4 degrees. This is the 10th warmest July on record over the 133 years of climate records beginning in 1894. The top 5 hottest July months were 1999 - 78.6 / 1901 - 78.5 / 2011 - 78.3 / 1955 - 78.2 and 2020 at 78.0. It was also a wet month with an average across the county stations of 6.83" this is the 20th greatest average rainfall in July. The greatest average was way back in 1919 with an average of 11.64" of rain.
LVblizzard
Mother nature is making up for all those years of storms messing up Musikfest. It’s very possible that the entire 10-day festival will be rain-free this year, aside from “preview night” this past Thursday.
BBasile
Hit a low of 56.6F this morning. The lowest temp since June 4 and the first temp below 60 since June 16. Currently 57.4F / 55F Dew
ChescoWx
This morning’s low of 55.7 was the chilliest morning here in East Nantmeal since the 55.1 reading back on June 4th. The lowest temperature around the county this morning was the 52.3 at the Warwick Township station. The first 2 days of August have averaged around 10 degrees below normal temperatures. Today will continue the below normal start to the month, but we have a quick 2 day warm up on Monday and Tuesday with temperatures not too far from average in the mid 80’s. Starting Wednesday we chill down a bit again with temperatures finishing out the work week a few degrees below normal. There is no rain at all in the forecast for this week. ChescoWx
The first 3 days of August have featured temperatures nearly 10 degrees below normal. We see temperatures rebound this PM to near normal with highs in the low to mid 80's. Similar temperatures tomorrow before we turn again a few degrees below normal to close out the work week. Near normal temperatures return next weekend. Rain chances look slight but more clouds and maybe a shower on Wednesday.

It will be a bit cloudier both today and tomorrow. Clearer skies return on Thursday through the weekend with temperatures near to a little below normal levels for early August. Next rain chances look like next Monday at the earliest.

ChescoWx
Updated 90 degree days this summer through today along with average 90+ days in a typical entire summer. So still time to get to normal at some locations. Of note PHL Airport has recorded 30 such days and Reading Airport with 21 days.

ChescoWx
We have had 5 straight well below normal days in fact this is the 2nd chilliest start to August in my 22 years of records here in East Nantmeal behind only the start of August 2021. We should be closer to normal temperatures today before we fall back a few degrees below normal for Thursday through Saturday before we should start a nice warmup into the middle of next week. Cloudy with maybe some sprinkles today - otherwise sunny and dry for most of the next week.
ChescoWx
A great stretch of weather ahead with slowly warming temperatures. After a weekend with below normal temperatures with overnight lows in the 50’s and highs not too far from 80 degrees we should see temps getting well into the 80's by the start of the new work week. There could even be some 90's especially as usual across the valley locations by the middle of the week. No rain chances till at least Wednesday. ChescoWx
Another chilly start of the day across much of the area with temperatures well down into the 50's. The chilliest station I could find was the Warwick DEOS station at 52.1 degrees. Through the first week of August we are running almost 7 degrees below normal temperatures for the month. We should slowly start to turn this temperature deficit around during the next week. We start a solid warming trend on Sunday with temperatures finally getting back to above normal levels. By mid-week some of the lower elevation spots may reach the 90's with increasing humidity to add to the discomfort. The week looks dry with maybe our first shot of rain arriving by later Thursday. ChescoWx
With today's high/low splits of 76.0/56.7 we have now recorded our 8th straight below normal day to kick off the month of August. This August is now off to the chilliest start (avg. temp of 67.6) in my 22 years here in East Nantmeal. The prior chilliest was back in 2013 with an average temperature of 68.3
ChescoWx Posted yesterday at 01:12 PM Share Posted yesterday at 01:12 PM A beautiful weekend is underway! After a chilly start with many spots well down into the 50's with the lowest at our typical chilliest station at the Warwick DEOS with a low at 51.1 degrees. Both today and tomorrow will continue our run of below normal average temperatures but with high temperatures getting close to normal both days. We finally get back to normal August levels by Monday and continue warming with some low spots touching 90 degrees by Wednesday. We stay dry through Wednesday, but shower chances begin to creep up by that night and through the end of the week.

Hurricane Agnes Posted yesterday at 08:42 PM Author Share Posted yesterday at 08:42 PM The 57 low that I had this morning is the coolest here since June 15th. Had to pull out the hose Tuesday and will probably pull it out tomorrow before the heat returns. So far I only have 0.04" of rain for the month (and that came Aug. 1st) after finishing up July with 7.22". Made it up to 84 for a high today and without all the soupy humidity, so you couldn't ask for a better past couple summer days. Currently a mostly sunny 82 with dp 56. ChescoWx
Yesterday was our 3rd record low of the month here in East Nantmeal besting the old record set Saturday in 2006 (records back to 2004) This is nowhere close to the County record of 49 degrees set in Phoenixville back in 1989. We should see a warming trend starting today with temperatures even here in East Nantmeal reaching the 80's for just the 2nd time this month. We continue to warm through Wednesday when some lower spots will likely reach 90 degrees. A few degrees cooler to close out the week with a chance of showers starting Wednesday evening. Hurricane Agnes
Bottomed out at 62 this morning and am currently at my high for the day so far at 83, with dp 64. Guess we should enjoy before the next heat wave hits. AP had an article today about there being record humidity east of the Rockies so far this season based on EU's Copernicus (home of the EC) data - https://apnews.com/article/humid-muggy-sticky-climate-oppressive-summer-df1b506a3036a6ea0c4c8ad5bbd87429 Quote Feel sticky this summer? That’s because it’s been record muggy East of the Rockies By SETH BORENSTEIN and M.K. WILDEMAN Updated 11:07 AM EDT, August 10, 2025 More than 70 million Americans sweated through the muggiest first two months of summer on record as climate change has noticeably dialed up the Eastern United States’ humidity in recent decades, an Associated Press data analysis shows. And that meant uncomfortably warm and potentially dangerous nights in many cities the last several weeks, the National Weather Service said. Parts of 27 states and Washington, D.C., had a record amount of days that meteorologists call uncomfortable — with average daily dew points of 65 degrees Fahrenheit or higher — in June and July, according to data derived from the Copernicus Climate Service. Much of the eastern US is feeling record muggy days And that’s just the daily average. In much of the East, the mugginess kept rising to near tropical levels for a few humid hours. Philadelphia had 29 days, Washington had 27 days and Baltimore had 24 days where the highest dew point simmered to at least 75 degrees, which even the the weather service office in Tampa calls oppressive, according to weather service data. Dew point is a measure of moisture in the air expressed in degrees that many meteorologists call the most accurate way to describe humidity. The summer of 2025 so far has had dew points that average at least 6 degrees higher than the 1951-2020 normals in Washington, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Richmond, Columbus and St. Louis, the AP calculations show. The average June and July humidity for the entire country east of the Rockies rose to more than 66 degrees, higher than any year since measurements started in 1950. <snip> Philly topped the list!
