Upstream, Zanesville has made it to -5. Impressive considering their high will be 44.

Yeah, in the history books this day probably won’t look all that interesting.

with Ohio having decent snow cover and the inch or so we got plus lack of lake influence for moderation I see no reason we can’t make a run for record low high tomorrow.

Tomorrow is -11, that will be hard.  Today is -3.  That’s much more doable.

Edit:  I miss read this, lol.  Record low high.  Yeah very doable.

Record low max is 13. Only risk is we get midnighted with rising evening temps. 0z Euro would screw us verbatim.

If we could somehow drop another few degrees and break today’s record low of -3, that’d make it interesting. But PIT has been stagnant at 0 for the last hour. Though I guess some of those could be -1’s because of the rounding thing.

Still early and plenty of cold to the west. NWS going with a -4 low today.

No reason to believe it can’t. Wheeling is down to -4.

PIT observed -1 on the hourly, then -2 right after so it’s officially our first below 0 in December since 1989 and only one degree to go to tie the daily record.
