It is either one or two things with Iowa and PSU.

-One, their defenses are elite and can shut down anyone in the country including Bama, OSU, Georgia, etc.

-Their offenses are just really awful.

I will be interested to see how they both progress. In all honesty I think neither PSU or Iowa are really top ten teams then again it could just be that everyone isn't great this year other than UGA. Seeing Michigan and MSU play PSU will be very interesting.

I concur that it's hard to say who is behind Georgia right now.  Bama has the offense but I feel like I cannot trust them to beat any top 30 or 40 team as a good play calling coach makes their defense look bad.  Iowa and Psu can have a great drive then a dud right after.

Bama loses to an unranked team and only falls to #5. LOL

doesn't appear to be much if any change of leaves in my area. anyone noticing much?

i enjoyed yesterdays "gray" day. it gave me time to recharge after a brutal couple weeks.

Had Clifford not gotten hurt, we would have beat Iowa by 2 touchdowns minimum.

I learned Iowa's fans lack class. Several times the camera panned on to their fans taunting PSU fans during injuries.

Payback is gonna be a b*tch, Jon.

Classic hockey reasoning for a tough loss "the puck just didn't bounce our way tonight" - certainly, the ball didn't bounce Tampa Bay's way last night.

The Ray's interviews showed a lot of class in not complaining vs. saying it is what it is.  I was impressed with how they handled it.  Better than I would have.    One point to add...assuming everything else played out exactly the same after the play but the ball stayed in the park and the Rays got the run, the Red Sox still win 6-5.  Granted things may have played out differently after that point but still something to consider.

All correct. I thought I'd throw that in there since my wife and I were watching the highlights and she mentioned what a crazy thing that was for that to happen, and my mind immediately went to a random post-game locker room comment from the NHL.

I'm looking forward to it.

You guys know I'm a defensive guy, I always preach it. Our defensive is tough, really tough. top 5 imo

Definitely a great hockey analogy.

It was a back and forth momentum affair though I find it hard to commit 5 1/2 hours to watching a game.

So how many days below the rapidly falling normals will there be between now and the end of the month? I’d be surprised if it’s more than 3.

I would be more inclined to say 5-7.  Its hard though as we have to take the full day normal re: if the high is 55 and the low 50, average it out.

The gangsters have their own poll.  They made millions when the Aggies won.  People had bet straight up Bama win as a place to hold money.  Now Vegas is holding it.

-------

The undefeated and top-ranked Bulldogs catapulted past Alabama this week and are now the consensus favorites to win the national championship at U.S. sportsbooks. Georgia is 7-5 at Caesars Sportsbook, followed by Alabama at 2-1. Ohio State is next at 9-1, followed by Oklahoma (14-1), Iowa (20-1), Cincinnati (25-1) and Michigan (30-1).

It appears next week we do get real fall temps. Lows in the 40s and highs in the low to mid 60s.

Better late than never. Too bad we have an 80 degree gauntlet to go through Wed-Sat.

Honestly I’m more looking forward to seeing the sun again than the cooler temps. For awhile the humidity was starting to feel like a personal affront (lol) but I quite enjoy fall weather that bounces around between warm (mid 70s) and crisp (low 60s). The constant gray skies are a real drag, though.

The more I look at model runs, the more I think this number will be 0 or 1.

GFS has Sun and Mon coming up and Sat would have been close were it not for a midnight high.  Now does HIA destroy the chances for MDT?  Very possible but for people not down wind from the HIA issues, both days could verify even with the GFS's close to normal numbers.

Norms for Sun and Monday are  65 and 46/45.  GFS has MDT getting to 62/45 on Sunday and 63/45 for Monday.   EC is delayed with the cold front vs. the GFS.   Looks to me that the CMC is below normal Mon-Wed.
