I-95 seems to be the dewpoint boundary today. Ours is down to 64, while Goldsboro, 23 miles away, is in the low 70's.

Thankful for the relatively low dps the past few days.. especially when when compared to southeast la the past few days...where temps have been in the mid to upper 90s and dps in the low to mid 80s. HI  values are nasty,  into the 120s. Currently there are several stations in the 120s...including a  couple as high as 126 and 127.  One of those stations yesterday had a  HI  of around 131.  NO airport had a  hi of 121 a little bit ago. Truly  ridiculous.

Thundershower about to graze us. Dewpoint just jumped up to 79. Currently 88/79 = 103 HI ---- the most uncomfortable day so far of the current warmth.

I remember a few years back the upper midwest had a heat wave and Minneapolis had an HI in the 130s. Highest I've ever heard of.

Maybe this was it?

I’d be surprised if that just grazed you in Clayton! Looks like a nice storm

Yeah, it back built bigtime. Now it's warned, and a FFA with it. Got about 0.25 so far.

Picked up .19" from the severe warned storm this afternoon at my house. I was I New Bern during it and they got pounded by it. Easily got well over an inch from it, 40 mph winds, and intense lightning but thankfully no hail.

Ended up with 0.45". South of Garner, someone picked up 3.27" from that storm!

A comfortable 66 degrees to start the day..

Had a quick afternoon shower (0.15"). Temp dropped down to 79, then rebounded quickly back to a sultry 90/79 = 104. Yuck!

The July doldrums are here. Hazy, Hot, and Humid for the foreseeable future. Currently 91/80 and dry. No rain forecasted until Sunday.

Yeah we're in the gauntlet the next few weeks and there's no escaping unless you're high mtns. I truly hate the weather this time of year!

95 at GSP, 98 at CAE, both yearly highs.

I've noticed CAE has not flirted with 100 yet, normally weeks like this gives them some 100s. Not sure why but they've managed to avoid it so far. Hasn't dropped below 70 there since 6/25.

.55 today from a severe storm that just missed to the east. Some power outages and downed trees in the eastern part of the county from a downburst
