No storms but the outflow feels lovely

Another outflow boundary moving SW through DC... evident on radarscope and LWX radar

Red sky at night, sailors delight

Red Skies

Great song by the Fixx.

Red skies at night
Red skies at night
Red skies at night
Red skies at night
Should have taken warning, it's just
People mourning
Running, hiding, lost
You can't find, find a place to go, so it's
Red skies at night
Red skies at night
Should have taken warning, it's just
People ignoring
Running, hiding, lost
You can't find, find a place to go, so it's
Red skies at night
Red skies at night..

0.3” for the day, 2.7” for the week.  Currently 69 degrees and just got in from s’mores by the fire pit with my nieces/nephews.  Such a great night!

Been seeing lightning for the past 2 hours to my northwest.

From now on, I’ll be calling it “lightening” to upset everything and everyone.

.34” yesterday is the best day yet for July, and finally over an inch for the month. Not unusual, but frustrating that the closest CoCoRaHS station to me is a couple of miles away and is 2” better than me for the month.

90 already at DCA.  That pretty much clinches the record for number of 90s in a month since the next three days look hot.

up to 93. torch!

90/78. The west-southwest winds coming off the bay are making this area really muggy but there is drier air to the west

It was 87/66 at 1pm when I left . Yesterday was much muggier . 78 dewpoint yesterday

Euro has another cutoff low by the weekend. Too far sw for us initially as depicted but I'm sure local will go through some changes 6-7 days out .

More likely it's the wind blowing across miles and miles of cornfields east of the bay.

Anyone know where to get more info about what’s happening with GOES-16?
It Seems to be having problems?

Nice to go back to the era where you don’t know whether a cane is coming unless your barometer drops 55mb in 12 minutes

I blame 2020

Tomorrow’s frontal passage looks pretty dry for most of us. Boo.

I don't even care at this point. Despite a bunch of rain the last few weeks, half my grass has burned to hell lol. Cant find a tall fescue that is durable enough to survive the mid summer heat in full sun here. All the trees are problematic too, pulling moisture and nutrients away from the grass. I  am rooting for dry now. Have some mosquitoes for the first time this year.
