Sad way to honor the 3rd anniversary of 2016.

It's how we roll in DC.

Well, I had about 10 minutes of snow about 11:30 lol. It definitely has turned windy and colder. Was 50 at 7 am, now 36.5 and dropping and had a 44 mph gust about 10 minutes ago. Winds steady 18-22 with gusts to 35 regularly from NW.

Just had a massive sycamore tree fall into the creek.  Tree is about 28" in diameter.... Thought someone had an accident on the road near our house....huge crash.

By the way, the new record for wettest 12 month period for BWI and DCA is February 1, 2018 - January 31, 2019.  Last February was really wet (5.30" BWI, 4.79" DCA), so this might be the end of it, though March 2018 was drier than normal, so a big March this year might continue the record.  If I didn't make a mistake (entirely possible), so far:

BWI 73.86"

DCA 68.44"

Folks,,,

I’m here to tell you that in Davis, WV, in my cabin along the northwestern (up)slope of of some pathetic east coast mountain, it snows 90% of all winter hours including when the sky is almost 75% blue. All it takes is a cloud. A cloud makes snow, as long as it’s a tiny bit grey. It’s fantastic

All it takes is a little WNW wind, and viola, snow storm!  Magical place.

Eps is bullish for below 0  temps for Thursday morning . Meteogram for KDMW( Carroll Co ) shows a mean low of -5 ...so several members are lower then that . Of course snow cover will help dictate exact lows but man ...pretty impressive I thought for a mean

Lol at the low  -20s showing up in central Pa. That would be record lows there

Very impressive with the snow squalls on Wednesday chance... check out the 12z 3km NAM for N MD as one of the few squalls moves through.  Note the extreme DGZ

Hoping to get some ice on coverage on the rivers after the incoming cold this week. I'll take my mini victories in winters like this.
