Yeah I went to the beach on Saturday and had amazing conditions 83 and sunny/little wind.

Saw this snippet from Tom Niziol on Facebook:

Meanwhile in the Northeast it will be cold enough for lake-effect rain showers, and yes, SNOW in the High Peaks of the Adirondacks !! Below is the the weather story from NWS Buffalo, the GFS surface map for Wednesday morning and the GFS total snowfall forecast ending Thursday afternoon. The snow in the High Peaks would occur Wednesday night into Thursday morning only at the highest elevations.

Keep an eye on the Whiteface Mt. web cam for any snow that may be seen. Hikers beware !!

Snow in Mid June somewhere in this state is insanity. ^_^

Yes, it is.  We really do live "on the edge" of 2 vastly different climates here in upstate NY.  A cold shot like this near the summer solstice is a reminder that the arctic gyrations off Hudson Bay really aren't that far away...yet we can just as easily be roasting as a Bermuda High sends tropical air into the region.  Guess that's what makes the weather so interesting (and often times frustrating) here.

Looks good for some decent severe weather in Upstate on Saturday. Maybe even a few tornados.

Still looking good for Saturday. Fingers crossed we get some feisty storms.  We just need a solid few hours of sun so things can recover after the early morning MCS.

"As the afternoon progresses...the combination of developing lake breeze

boundaries...leftover outflow boundaries from any morning convection...

and the slowly approaching cold front should all act to lift the warm

and increasingly unstable airmass and generate a second round of surface-

based convection that would likely last into the evening hours. Should

the projected amounts of instability above actually be realized...the

general west-northwesterly to northwesterly flow regime aloft and available

shear profiles would likely be plenty sufficient to support the risk of

some stronger to severe storms...including both some bowing structures

and supercells. While strong damaging winds would be the most likely

threat from these...the potential would also likely exist for some

large hail...and possibly even a tornado or two."

What app or website do you guys use for your lightning strike data?  I used a pay subscription to an app called MyCast that worked great for nearly 8 years, however they have stopped supporting their app so now I no longer can use it.  A search of other apps and the web turned up little useful alternatives.

I'm willing to pay a yearly fee for this service, any info would be awesome.

Pretty nice for a free site. We also have a weathertap subscription at work.

As far as real time lightning I use the app RadarScope. It was a $10 download which I bought years ago (believe it's still $10) and pay $10.99 annually for a subscription which includes real time lightning data as well as being able to view 20 frames (4 hours or so) instead of just 6. Also lets me check the radar right from my Apple Watch. Well worth the money.

On the thunderstorm side... Some nasty storms just SE of East Aurora and about to move into Hamburg. VIL is nuts with some 70kg/m2 showing up, I bet there's at least quarter to golf ball sized hail under those cores. BuffaloWeather get your car in the garage!!

Great call Devin...There was a few quarter size balls in there for sure. They melt so fast, only lasted 30 seconds.
