Happy January. Good to be back. Had flurries Monday near sunset. Got down to 22 degrees Tuesday morning with the first heavy frost of the season. (Pics below). Wednesday morning saw 14 degrees. Highs in the 30's Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.  Thursday morning in the 20's, but rain and fog arrived yesterday with a high of 48. Down to 40 this morning with light clouds. Looking forward to a few flakes this coming week, and a ski trip up to Sugar.

Hey MM! Long time no see!

Hey MM! Long time no see!

I've been making alot of pics... Just spent three weeks in Florida. Went to Greenville IMAX today to see STAR WARS. Walked out half-way thru... WAY too violent for me, and there were many young kids in the audience. What are these parents thinking???   It's good to be back....    Life is good...     Vann

normal high here of 54 today...looking at the water vapor loop i see something around baja mexico and something west of north central california, i assume the energy west of california is the system that is supposed to move onshore on the models in the next day or so? and then become the possible sunday system in the se?...there is also more robust energy further west seems a parade of systems are lining up to move into the cold air mass in the se in the coming days

Not sure how it panned out elsewhere, but KJNX only managed a report of 17/24 a couple times this afternoon. Well below the threshold of a wind advisory around here. It was a little different, though, to have a sustained 'wind' for a good portion of the day.

There's a Duke Energy Power Outage map for that. A lot of powerlines and trees down east of the mountains today in Stokes, Rockingham, and Forsyth County. Several hundreds still without in each as of 11pm.
