This warm toungue of f ing doom. Not. Death doom. Gets us evrey time. The most brutal cold in the history of west pa for feb. When moisture comes to area we alwsys warm up

I can't help but wonder how this weather is affecting the stink bug eradication business. It seemed their population was decimated after last winter. I'm wondering if this winter's bitter cold will be the final straw.

I was wondering the same thing, but just about bugs in general this Spring \ Summer. Hoping they are less than usual with all this late cold. Couple days ago I heard birds chirping in the morning, didn't hear any this morning though. :devilsmiley:  I'd be ok if we stayed below normal til that last week of March then just went straight into 65 degree weather, I know its a pipe dream but hey.

I have heard a lot of birds chirping.  Has sounded like spring the last few weeks in the am despite the frigid temps.  Have seen lots of Robins.  Looks like they are eating the buds of the trees.

:lmao:   and thats only a 6 hour total too, anybody have the run total to that point? I read that it was some perfectly timed setup that has a 1 in a million chance of happening but sure is pretty to look at.

The over running setup Sunday night looks like a realistic shot a several inches but we shall see. I think its going to be close temp wise based on model output.

I think it's actually 216 hour snowfall, but the 2 and 1 are cutoff by the box.

Hopefully we get something like this next month. The picture below is from March 19, 1936 - one day after the record-breaking flood crest of 46 feet in downtown Pittsburgh. Many of the buildings in downtown Pittsburgh have markers showing how high the flood waters got that day. It was a major disaster with 69 deaths in the city and damages totaling $4.5B (2014 dollars).

Days and days of rain, couple with rapid, extensive snow melt created widespread flooding from the Mid Atlantic to New England. The winter of 1935-36 was very cold and snowy, allowing a massive snow pack to form across much of the interior northeast. Waves of low pressure tracking along a stationary front in mid-March produced several inches of rain across the region. As shown by the picture, the rain ended as heavy, wet snow across western Pennsylvania with more than a foot falling north of Pittsburgh.

Next week looks active on the GFS, overrunning Sunday night, then probably rain mid week, then another shot at snow Thursday into Friday. Afterwards pattern looks fairly hostile for snow, but as we all know you can't rule anything out in March but by then I think most of us will be ready for some warmer weather. If its going to snow after DST it better be 6+

I hope it stays wintry for our trip to Niagra Falls, would love to see them frozen and Goat Island glazed over in ice and snow

If anyone is still awake, here's a webcam of Virginia Beach. Snow really coming down. They're expecting 4-8 inches there.

http://www.vbbound.com/courtyard-

virginia-beach-oceanfront-webcam

It's sickening to see that. A vacation spot get plastered and were sitting here like 100 putzes waiting years for 10 plus inch snow storm. Every 100-150 1 inch or 2 inch storms we get. Then we get a 10 plus one. Every decade. Do math.

It really seems like most of PA has been missed this entire winter.  Almost every state east of the Mississippi has now seen a bigger snow than this area (minus the extreme southern states, of course).  I think we need one of those large overrunning events that covers the entire state to make up for it all.

So. What do u think. ,?? What amount of snow ??

unless we get a scenerio like the CMC is showing. I would say 1-3 with 3-5 being the best outcome. Next week has more moisture to work with but it may cut. The NAO looks to go negative at this time so maybe we can get something before spring.

Seems like the NAM is much faster with this storm.  If we can hold it off until Sun Night, I think we can see better totals.  Otherwise too much mix issues.

Oh Canada!  Jackpot  3 days away.. Too many changes to come to take any snow map serious.
