If those came through for us, I know some people who will kill me at even the slightest hint of excitement.

This winter is creeping up there for one of my favorites...for multiple reasons.

I'm not a big fan of the cold, but love the snow. There was 2 epic LES events for MBY and another 4-6 smaller events in addition to 4-5 synoptic systems and 10+ arctic fronts/lake enhancement. Probably one of my favorite winners ever. 00-01, 01-02 were pretty awesome.

Nearly 10 hours straight of Heavy Snow at KBUF. I might be in the minority but I don't think blizzard warnings were needed with this storm. Wind forecast were underwhelming except close to the lakeshores. This should of been a high end WSW.

I was waiting on the deform band to swing through....but I think I'll go get my bibs on and head out before the winds get cranking...Whatever falls tonight will be melted by Friday anyway.

Same here. Def band looks awful for CNY. I keep my storm grade at a B+ here. I don't hand out A's easily.... ;)

Thank you, I've even saying all along that NWS pulled the plug with that blizzard warning.. I'm pretty sure areas along the Lake Ontario shoreline justified the blizzard criteria but not the city nor the southern burbs..

Rochester appeared to be quite a bit more intense during the peak of the storm.  With much higher sustained winds for long portion of the afternoon.  Perhaps that explains my higher rating of this event.  Plus I didnt have the super blizzard Buffalo had in January to compare to.

Impressive wind and cold, but the precip shield was pretty unimpressive for such a strong storm. The heaviest returns were either rain or mix, and even the "heavy" snow never approached whiteout conditions here(and the returns were brighter over southern CNY than any other part of the region). With only 2-3 inches I'd say this qualifies as a major bust now that the back end is falling apart(snow was supposed to last until at least 2 AM). No model run in the past 72 hours had so little snow here, with the possible exception of one NAM run on Monday.

Huge bust here.  At one point yesterday the locals were predicting as much as 18" here.  As late as 8pm tonight, the NWS updated their forecast and has me for 6" to 12".  We don't have an inch yet and this thing is falling apart. Big disappointment. But we've had more than our share this winter, so I won't hold a grudge.

The 12z NAM ended up having the right idea, being much stronger with the warm nose aloft and yet one of the coldest models in the surface layer. That left us with more ZR and IP than snow.

I'm not too disappointed since this event hadn't been looking too solid in the immediate Albany area (Hudson valley locations) for the last couple days.

Been measuring every 6 hours....total for storm 10.5....9" OTG from storm.  Gonna wait until morning to do driveway....it's gonna just drift in anyway.

I am agreeing w/ 10"...just measured. Just finished driveway. What a pain. Because the ground was warm pre storm, the bottom layer of snow is like hard slush...snowblower was riding up over it. I shoveled the bottom layer because it was annoying me. Wiped out.

Looks like the remnants of the def band are handing tough for a bit here in CNY. Maybe a little lake assist going on.

I just saw someone post a tweet with some sort of effed up WRF-ARW Euro initialization for this saturday. It shows over a foot of snow in the same areas that were hit today? Is this real or am I missing something?

edit: nevermind. i was misunderstanding something.
