Starting to snow on the Deadwood cam Cyclone posted above^. Sticking to the awnings and sidewalks.

 

Should look pretty sweet tomorrow after the sun comes up.  They're gonna get smoked there.

 

Here's their point from the NWS...

 

  • Overnight Snow with areas of blowing snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 29. Blustery, with a north wind 18 to 23 mph increasing to 24 to 29 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.
  • Friday Snow with areas of blowing snow. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 30. Windy, with a north wind around 31 mph, with gusts as high as 44 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 9 to 13 inches possible.
  • Friday Night Snow with areas of blowing snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 26. Windy, with a northwest wind 21 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

I guess in Deadwood you shovel your snow out in the street! Was watching the snow shoveling earlier. Making me more anxious for winter.  :D

For anyone that has been to Wind Cave, you would be interested by this observation:

This would be the wind gust coming out of the cave. Only one opening to the cave and when the pressure drops outside rapidly the air either rushes in or out of the cave at a rapid pace. This is impressive, even for Wind Cave!
