Heads up NE CT folks

 

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A

* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR...
NORTHWESTERN PROVIDENCE COUNTY IN RHODE ISLAND...
CENTRAL WINDHAM COUNTY IN NORTHERN CONNECTICUT...

* UNTIL 315 PM EDT

* AT 234 PM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THIS STORM
WAS LOCATED NEAR ASHFORD...OR 6 MILES EAST OF MANSFIELD...AND
MOVING EAST AT 30 MPH.

* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
PUTNAM...ASHFORD...FOSTER...MILLBURY...BURRILLVILLE...KILLINGLY...
THOMPSON...POMFRET...EASTFORD AND WOODSTOCK.

Gotta wonder if this intitial batch along the prefrontal trough is it..with just gentle storms later this eve

Here in Michigan we had similar atmospheric conditions yesterday. In all I experienced 3 legitimate severe storms.. One at 6pm, the next one at 7:30, and another at midnight. Other locations had 4 severe storms.. And we didn't have a single severe t'storm watch throughout the entire day/night. So don't be lulled into thinking this will be it!
