WintersGrasp
Wow why are the 850s so warm this run?
MikeS
Definitely warmer through 21 http://mag.ncep.noaa.gov/nam/00/nam_namer_021_850_temp_mslp_precip.gif
jm1220
Hr 21 everyone getting pounded with heavy preciep. But it's rain city-south. This run is warmer I'm still not buying that the main CCB related stuff would be rain for anybody. The NAM is also by far the warmest of all the models and is likely overdone with that. That said, I can certainly buy a period of mixing or rain for shore areas and possibly the city. But no one should freak out and panic that it will cut down tremendously on final totals. donsutherland1
The run appears to be slightly warmer, but it is in good agreement with the 12z and 18z runs. Hence, temperatures should crash and blizzard conditions should develop from northern New Jersey north and eastward should the run maintain good continuity with its earlier runs. Kaner587
at 24 temps are crashing and the truth is I think the end result will be slightly less amped than this and thus temp issues will NOT be a concern for the majority of the area.

WintersGrasp
Isn't the problem that it is LESS amped early on thus the temps don't crash like 12z?
Superstorm93
Jeezus... Snow bomb by 27 NYC is under a extremely heavy band.

Kaner587
by 27 with the deform overhead, a lot of the area is in the 1.25-1.5in precip in 6hr. Pretty unbelievable. All of that isn't snow verbatim on the nam btw.
jm1220
I think by dark just about everybody should be snow. Most of these systems that bomb out near us change back to snow sooner than predicted. 2/25/10 is one big example, where Nassau County changed to snow hours before predicted, but the snow shut off for a time as the low re-organized. That's probably what stopped western Long island from getting the 20"+ that Manhattan got.
SACRUS
It would goto snow very quickly. Id expect mixing all the way to EWR for a bit best stuff is later tomorrow between 3/5 PM. NAM is a shalacking
SnoSki14
I don't know if its going to be that warm but it won't make a difference overall as temps will crash and we get clobbered.
