Browsing on the iPhone here. You use to be able to choose the page you wanted to go to before the upgrade. Now it takes you to I guess the last viewed post? Not a biggy at the moment, but come snow events, your gonna have to hit "next" a lot to catch up to the current page. Anyway we can get that fixed?

Bump*

Some cool things you guys might not have noticed about the new forum.

- Forum quick-navigation is on the top right of the forum near the "View New Content" link. You can browse to any forum from there.

- When making a quick reply, the board will automatically save your post so you don't lose it.

- If you're making a quick reply or viewing a thread, and a new reply is posted, a popup will notify you so that you can view what has been posted since you've been typing.

- On the top left of the topic title (main page of individual topic) you can toggle between detailed and quick view of the posts.

- You can now view your PM threads without going into the PM center (drop down from top menu)

- The "pages" buttons are gone on the mobile skin, but clicking the topic automatically brings you to the last page.

Some things we are fixing

- Font colors

- IE Issues

- Subscription skin issues.

Any more questions, feel free to reply to this post and I'll see what I've got for you.

Is there anyway to bring back the old eastern skin option? This one is really difficult for me to see

on my computer? I would donate some money if it is an economics issue.

I noticed this as well. I'm not sure what we can do other than look for a modification to the skin or build a custom one.

What I've been doing is just hitting the back button and clicking the topic again. That brings you to the last page.

Plus, hitting the "next" button isn't the most strenuous thing on your fingers ;)

It's been brought up in the staff forum as well. The problem is that multiple skins require us to integrate each modification or change into each individual skin, since each one is different. There is no mass editor for skins.

But I will continue to push hard for it. I agree that there should be some options. And if it's hard to read for some people, it definitely needs to be considered.

I'll keep you updated.

Not now, but when the KU's of all KU's is bearing down on us in Feb , that's a lot of tapping!! Lol . Just noting a suggestion though. Convenience. It also cuts back on the amount of data you go through on a cellular plan. Food for thought.

Def. a good point. I'll see what I can do. There's got to be a modification out there somewhere.

mention the possibility of Jan 06 warmth and moves Dec cold to the midwest/plains...reading b/w the lines, not going to be much winter for us....in his opinion of course

Lol, as usual you have misquoted JB.....this was what he actually said below....nice try though..

Today's was what I hope is a final adjustment, I say hope because the contradictions in front of us make me see the 2006 threat of warmth in January on one hand, but the blocking and cold on another.

Cool article on the reason the eastern us has been colder past few winters, its an excerpt from the NOAA report on the Arctic

Atmosphere Summary

Section Coordinator: James E. Overland

NOAA Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory, Seattle, WA, USA

November 10, 2011

In 2011, annual near-surface air temperatures over much of the ocean were approximately +1.5 °C greater than the 1981-2010 baseline period and land temperatures were also above their baseline values. This continued a decade-long warm-bias of the Arctic relative to mid-latitudes. The wintertime increase and the summertime decrease in cloudiness resulted in greater energy flux to the surface, potentially contributing to the near record low sea ice extent this year (see the essay on Sea Ice). Similar to winter 2009-2010, winter 2010-2011 and summer 2011 had increased linkages of wind patterns between the Arctic and the sub-Arctic. This pattern is responsible for sending cold air from the Arctic southward into eastern North America and northern Europe, and warm air from the sub-Arctic northward into western Greenland and east Asia. Possibly linked to recent changes in wind patterns, ozone concentrations in the Arctic stratosphere during March 2011 were the lowest ever recorded during the period beginning in 1979. While the global increase of human sources of greenhouse gases continues, there is no direct evidence that Arctic emissions of methane are changing.

i'm in a conference call, like I am about 75% of my time.. Pretty much everyone else on the call is out in Chicago... If this is the type of stuff that goes on in the windy city.. well, there's not much I can do about it.

Can the Jb quotes go off topic please because besides them being quoted incorrectly he is never right anyway.

not entirely true, even a blind squirrel can find a nut...on the rare occasion when a storm massively overperforms he looks like nostradamus, but for the most part, you are correct, he is like Harold Camping, the dude who has predicted the end of times 4 or 5 times already...the big bust earlier this year as you recall...

aren't you in court?

when i hire a lawyer, i definitely want him posting on a weather forum during a court hearing.

im also a lawyer...we arent always in hearings, there is a lot of paperwork to do at the computer...a lot...which leads to hours of boring downtime which needs to be broken up by anything else remotely interesting.
