• AT 139 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A

Well, it looks a lot worse on the radar than it does on the ground here, but maybe the north end of town is getting clobbered.

A few drops so far here, with muffled thunder coming from the north.

interesting cell to watch over the next 30 minutes or so as it interacts with the one dropping south now to its ne.

Kind of interesting how some of those cells are hanging in the valley area. maybe some sort of mesoscale interaction thing with terrain or something.

The problem in these low shear environments, hard to sustain updrafts. Still looks like a decent severe day, just hard to have any sort of long-tracked supercell structure.

True, but sometimes the winds at 400-300 mb can help vent and at least try to allow the storm to continue and not fall apart on itself.

I saw someone mentioned the HRRR. That used to be the best model ever to exist. No joke. I don't know who messed with it, but they sure made it awful.

It doesn't even properly initialize the current convection, and currently shows a squall line moving down the Hudson Valley towards NYC

Well it was capable...I reported penny-sized hail.

Clear blue skies right now...
