Yea, been following the weather for years, especially winter weather since I'm a big time snowmobile fanatic. Not much into predicting, but I can offer some reports from an area that is often not to well represented usually. This area has some unique weather that is not normally captured in some of the main topic threads. Currently there is anywhere from <1" snow cover in eastern Tioga County to 6" to 8" into Potter County. Hoping this next storm can add to the snowpack. Snowman.gif Currently -2 F here.

Glad to see another northern pa person on here. We only got down to 4 degrees, but If you know where Oswayo, and Ulysses is they got down to -1 F.

I'm down the valley from Ulysses about 14 miles and we did bottom out at -2 F before the cloud cover moved in the other night. Currently we are at 19 F after hitting 40 F this afternoon. Here's hoping for a miracle front end dump and not too much flooding rain with this current system.

I was walking our dog out in it. Came down hard.

BTW, for a greyhound from Florida, she sure loves snow. She was jumping around and snapping at snowflakes.

Yeah it was nice. Dropped vis pretty low for awhile, dropped maybe a few tenths and coated everything here...blew around the apartment complex as well.

The Lake Huron band could come around again tomorrow night. The NAM has shown a pretty strong signal for a couple of runs now, and upper winds look well enough aligned for a consistent band. It's hard to predict where that band hits, but as always Lock Haven-Altoona are the most likely suspects. It might move south to north this time though, since winds become more westerly as the low continues into Canada. Undoubtedly, the Laurel Highlands and Johnstown will get hammered with another 1-2 feet or so of snow.

Good luck on the rest of finals week, fellow PSUers.

Currently down to 9 degrees. It doesn't look like it will get to much colder tonight with overcast conditions due to the lake effect. I would say this area would have a good chance to get to 0 if we had a decent snow cover and clear skies but the dredful rain washed most of it away. The winds aren't really favorable for snow here as the NNW wind doesn't provide enough fetch. Doesn't look like a storm is going to be around the area, or at least not until hour 130+ according to some of the models. Richmond looks to be bullseye for the upcoming week and may have more snow than some places in northern pa. :arrowhead:

Hey, can I get in on that luck as a staffer. lol?

We got close to an inch overnight in Port, bit less here.

I agree, a bit optimistic about the bands. Might make it down to sauss/Febland, too.
