  1. Up 860ft at Observatory Hill. -SN and gorgeous. Might stay here all day.
  2. Still snowing despite what radar says. Light stuff, probably 2 miles of visibility? Would love to crawl my way to 6”.
  3. Always kind of hate walking on untrodden snow covered ground. 5.5” in the woods. Might be slightly high. . Pro
  4. Flake size picking up. Family says 2” on Arlington, still somewhere around 5” in CHO. Hiking the UVA back woods.
  5. Can’t believe you are complaining with two feet on the ground. Some people /s
  6. Didn’t have too much to work with at school... left my rulers at gone. Has about .2” at the bottom that doesn’t count as the ruler, which is the worst kind of ruler. Just under 5.
  7. Sorry ya’ll, can’t delete my accidental triple post on mobile. 4.25”
  8. I’ve been trying to figure out how long we go for... maybe till 2:00pm? Might be generous. I’ve put on the snow pants. Rotunda pics coming soon. I live a half hour away usually so this might take me an hour. What we do for scenic snow.
  9. Family calling it an inch in Arlington. I’m eyeballing around 4” in Charlottesville and I’m trying to work up the energy to hike to the Rotunda for pictures.
  10. Enjoying my modeled jackpot. About to go measure. 2:20 measurement: 0.8"
  11. Nah, my name sucks and is confusing. I'm in Charlottesville, sorry.
  12. Coming down good under the yellows. Hoping to get to an 1" before the first band cuts off.
  13. FWIW. Probably not a lot. Looks a lot like the NAM/HRRR, though.
  14. I denounce the snow hole over Charlottesville!
  15. Hopefully soon. Radar just brightened up this past frame so I like to think this band will moisten the column. Seems to be a bit of a preshow so if it doesn't work out it's not a huge deal but it would probably limit our shots at 5-8".
  16. GEFS is active next weekend. Probably our next real window. Mean is suggestive.
  17. Perfect. Hoping that this first band holds up and delivers. HRRR has me with 2" on the ground in the next five hours or so -- that bit looks to be a crucial part.
  18. I’m guessing that this bit might actually be making it to the ground. Gives me time to take an hourlong cat nap if I'm right.
