  1. Not to overload the page with maps, but the 12z is a pretty solid improvement over 6z, IMO. 12z: 6z: same with the 3k. Both made positive steps.
  2. Crazy runs of the Canadian aside, I feel like things are genuinely looking up with this storm. 18z EURO improved and upped the ante on precip and snow, NAMs took serious steps when they wanted to kill the mood earlier... Not entirely sure what the consequences of another bump N would be temperature wise, but I think there is genuinely a shot at a widespread 1-2" if it shifts a little more north. That said, my bar is flakes.
  3. 3k decided that the storm exists again. It seems to be a run behind the 12k on this one... now the 3k says congrats to Salisbury.
  4. Works for now. Certainly a step in the right direction for many.
  5. It is. Quicker and the heaviest stuff is going to be shifted north by a fair bit.
  6. Could be the only 3” I see this season. [emoji14] More than likely I wouldn’t actually go, especially if we get an inch here. But it’s tempting. I rent a house down there so it wouldn’t be like sitting in a dorm. Could be nice. Besides, me going to Charlottesville means it would snow more up north. It would benefit everyone!
  7. Solid improvement over 12z. Still might have to make the trip to CHO. It's a quick storm so verbatim it kinda rips there.
  8. 18z EURO is looking solid. Snow everywhere at 51. 18z RGEM was also a nice run... but its the RGEM at range.
  9. As a Giants fan I instinctually dislike the Eagles but as a fan of the game I have a lot of respect for them, especially with their resistance this season. The fact that they are even in contention speaks to the all-around effort from their team (and their practice squad). Wentz is a super underrated QB as well. Got a soft spot for him.
  10. 18z NAM takes a jump southward and is messier as a whole. About 4” for Salisbury. oop this is the Banter thread but the NAM might as well be banter
  11. Slight decrease in totals. Might need to travel down to Charlottesville.
  12. Not sure it means all that much but the GEFS came in friendlier. Nothing amazing but a widespread half inch or a bit more for close burbs, past runs were basically a T.
  13. For the record, I'm in Arlington for this one, I'm home for Winter Break. I'm desperate enough where I'd consider chasing the 3" though, if it was legit. Going from 0.1" on the 12z run to 1"ish in the Beltway on the 18z counts as a vast improvement for me, anyways. Desperate times...
  14. I didn’t see anything about the 18z EURO so I assumed it was bad but it’s actually closer to NAM-like then I would’ve thought. Pretty vast improvement. Control:
  15. I’ll choose to take the optimistic position... the Control member looks fairly similar to the OP.
  16. It absolutely dwarfed a normal summer thunderstorm but I’d be willing to wager it’s rained harder before, but this was a totally different length of time. There were times when it was near-blinding (slightly distorted perspective because I was driving) but even then I could see. What really struck me was the fact that the downpour continued for an hour. It was like heaviest summer thunderstorm of the year going on for a whole hour. Places I’ve never seen flood flooded in 10 minutes. It also really did come in like a wall. Nothing to pouring in about 30 seconds, then whatever the step is beyond pouring in about another 30. https://www.arlnow.com/2019/07/08/flash-flood-warning-issued-for-arlington-3/
  17. July 2019 rainstorm is the event of the year for me. 3" of rain in an hour is a crazy thing to witness. I've never seen that much water, and places here flooded that I never thought could.
  18. It’s probably going to all go out the window next run but the 18z EPS Control was going to go 3/3 on winter threats this week... nothing that impressive but a dusting with the ULL on Sunday, dusting with the clipper on Monday, and a light event looks incoming on Wednesday.
