    It’s obvious in retrospect, but having walked around quite a bit today the cicadas are a lot more present in less renovated neighborhoods. Lots of fully redone properties around here.

    Amazing the difference two blocks can make. Goes from a few outside my house to them jumping on me and all over the sidewalk and fences.

    Local businesses will do what they do and I will fully support that, but looks like Virginia is speeding along. I’ll need to ease myself back into the world for sure, but it’s a relief to see.

    That is true, I imagine most states hustle to adopt it, though. CDC has also been strict so I was somewhat surprised to see it.

    Well, there it (likely) is. That step would essentially mark the end of this, IMO. Kinda crazy.

    Without knowing the details of the situation, its very possible that these players would’ve just thought they had allergies if not for the daily testing I’m assuming they are still going under. If they all got J&J (which it seems like they did) it’s not crazy that an outbreak in the clubhouse could still happen. The difference being that a post-vax outbreak is a nuisance while a pre-vax outbreak is more dangerous.

    I topped off the tank today, felt like a sucker because I know the shortage isn’t real, it’s a panic-inspired shortage and I contributed to it. That said, going down to the beach with some friends after finals end, and gas looks problematic the whole way down. Need every gallon we can get.

    Other than twelve hours of having a sore arm, I had no side effects from the Pfizer second dose. Don’t know if that means my immune system is strong or weak, lol.

    Officially fully vaccinated today (two weeks after second dose) and it is my last day of classes as a junior at UVA! Time flies... Also super excited to let ya'll know that I'll interning with Accuweather over the summer. Getting all kinds of weather journalism experience... it really is the passion of people here that has kept me so enthused about the weather.

    Nice looking storms with some rotation approaching CHO. I’ll be in class... hopefully it passes before I need to bike home.

    Wouldn’t mind some good Rt. 29 storms today. I’d even consider chasing if they happened after 5:00pm or so. I’ll have to see how the timing works out.

    That velocity/storm presentation looks legit. Someone on a forum I follow was nerding out about this wind profile, can’t read ‘em myself but maybe others could translate.
