  1. Not worth overanalyzing the HRRR yet (or probably ever) but it has sleet lasting for ~15 minutes at most places before it turns over to snow from 5:30-8:30 west/east. Should be a pretty quick transition all things considered.
  2. I'm assuming this is just Senior Champs? Yeah, weird it's not at GMU. It's an annoying event to miss for sure -- I missed the 2015 squall, something super unique that I might never see again, who knows. It just happens. I missed that 8"er earlier this season too.
  3. pulling this to banter -- but I do have to move! i've got a government consulting job with a company HQ'd in Arlington -- you can probably narrow it down fairly fast. if remote work was possible, I'd highly consider living somewhere cheaper and snowier for at least a bit, but for now it's probably the typical young professional Arlington lifestyle.
  4. I'm home for Spring Break for the week -- seems like my odds of something cool might be better in Arlington so I stuck it out for the weekend too. We'll see. After this May I graduate then my name will make sense most of the year again, unless I live in the snow hellhole that is DC
  5. It's too bad the GEFS suck. All I take from it personally is that they keep upping the ante. That can only be good, I'd think
  6. I missed plenty of events for swim/water polo. It always stings but you’ll get over it - I’m sure you won’t abandon your team but I’d definitely advise against it! Feel free to vent to me though, I’ve been there.
  7. yeah I'm not seeing 10" even on the weeniest map -- it's better than 12z though
  8. nope, if the WxBell maps agree, that’s a massive shift. Some of the ens looked like that, though.
  9. i mean, technically, if the NAMs are right, I think it would probably be -- below is the 3hr snowfall + gust panels for 8-11am
  10. we won't hit blizzard criteria, but is this the first time the NWS has mentioned the b-word in a winter weather advisory/WSW text for the metro proper since 2016?
  11. it's all about getting HRDPS'd these days. but I'd count the 6" the NAM gives most of us as being NAM'd anyway
  12. the 3k backs up the 12k... when do we start buying into a 2-4"+ storm for everyone (outside SE MD/DE)
  13. 12k NAM is more delayed than other models on the changeover and it *looked* like the heaviest stuff was headed but it slams us regardless. It actually moistened up a ton to the south... 1.5" inches of precip in 6 hours around Williamsburg. Very juicy.
  14. The gusts are the truly nuts part. When the storm is really going off (about ~3" 10:1 in 2hrs for most of us), it's gusting 35-45mph for most of the area. Should be an exciting few hours.
  15. All of it -- looks like a snow sounding. DCA should be all snow by just a hair after 8, verbatim, unless I'm missing a sneaky warm layer.
  16. Decent odds of a 3" snowstorm (10:1, at least) for much of the subforum, per the EPS.
  17. There were many infuriating parts of last nights game, but our offensive rebounding was terrible. Caffaro (who I have a personal dislike for after sharing classes with, so I'm biased) was largely just a body in the paint. He lacked any aggressiveness and was largely useless defensively as well. Shedrick is so much better but he'll foul out in 10 minutes if he's left in the game.
