  1. Fully ice in Charlottesville, which still makes me wonder why we have the WSW with non-mixed precip and others have the ISW with mixed-precip.
  2. Not crazy icy in CHO but trees and plants definitely have a glaze on them. Cars very icy. Snow has been glacierized.
  3. Maybe slightly cooler but it looks essentially identical to 00z from my quick glance.
  4. Roads are fine in Charlottesville but sidewalks and trees are heavily glazed. 30 degrees.
  5. Rooting for another 1-2” inches for everyone but Richmond. Seems doable.
  6. PARA and the HRRR both have this as a little bit of snow for the favored spots. Warm nose must really be less impressive than initially modeled. Not even favored areas, actually. Take this as you will. edit: RAP also agrees
  7. ^ luckily it flips itself to rain on the way out so it wouldn't be awful but that would accrete everywhere verbatim.
  8. Thursday is a really bad ice storm as depicted. Surface is frozen.
  9. Yeah, I don't mean to minimize the threat that ice poses! I do like to root for interesting weather (that isn't tornadoes or wind) though, so I'm slightly disappointed when the numbers are lower. Totally understand the danger remains.
  10. Yeah, not too much to speak of. Slightly drier.
  11. Looks like about .4" of sleet and barely any FRZA. So mostly a sleet storm. I mostly noted it because it's got quite a wide swath of sleet.
  12. NAM twins definitely show a fair bit of sleet for most on this forum.
  13. Yeah, looking at my notes I guess there was almost .5" of ice here. It was a guesstimate based off Twitter reports but that's definitely significant.
  14. Can't quite figure out why Charlottesville isn't under an ISW, ice forecast looks identical. Guess it's a certainty thing.
  15. low 30s and upper 20s for most. Not frigid but better than 32.
  16. Wow, my measurement might’ve been an underestimation. I’ll have to check the final reports. Flurries. Very wintry day.
  17. Checking local spotter reports I feel very comfortable with my 4.25” number... numbers range from 4” to 4.5” around town. Gorgeous morning.
  18. Non-accumulating for sure, but festive. 12+ hours of snowfall is pretty great.
  19. I'll say this about Charlottesville: always snows longer than the radar says it should. Still going. It's tapered off somewhat but I'd call it more impressive than flurries. Gonna call it 4.25" and that's likely the final measurement, I'll fix it tomorrow morning if spotter reports say I'm totally crazy. Ended up being a great storm.
  20. We've talked about how Tuesday has slipped away but the run-to-run change on surface temps is... disappointing. 00z: 18z:
  21. Hoping we can stay below freezing tomorrow and then get just a litttttle glaze on Saturday. Would be nice to maintain a little snow cover for awhile.
  22. Still coming down nicely with big flakes. Was hoping I could stay awake until the end and get a nice solid measurement. Little over 4” since the bottom of the ruler is .2” or so.
