Ah, this is the heat and humidity that I remember down in Charlottesville. Absolutely horrible day and it’s only gonna get worse this week.

Why are all the tropical threads the worst?

I’m not sure what relevance the “youth” have but LWX definitely does overwarn. Ian and others on Twitter discussed it just recently, and it doesn’t take a met to see that LWX often warns sub-severe stuff. In a busy metro area where it isn’t hard to see tree damage, I get it, but it’s overdone. Ian mentioned tiered warnings, IIRC, which I certainly wouldn’t mind. Likely confusing to the general populace. Totally off-topic, but a heck of a storm season we’ve been having. Been busy. Somewhat jealous I’m still not back in town!

It’s super pretty when you manage to beat the classic Maine fog. Hiked the mountain in the morning when we couldn’t see anything, then did it again in the afternoon when it cleared up.

Meanwhile in Bar Harbor: Still jealous of the sick lightning storm though. Don’t get to see too many of those.

I don’t care because I’m out of town. That is a plus for you guys having a great severe day though. [emoji14]

meh. Let’s see if the next storm is any more impressive.

Me hearing thunder makes today the most interesting day weather-wise in the past week and a half. Sad.

Ugh, someone bumped the December 9/10 storm thread. Still can't believe I managed to miss that storm. Always gonna haunt me. 2 months or so until I renew my WeatherBell subscription though. Very exciting.

This feels a like a stormy day outside. Fingers crossed, wouldn’t mind some more interesting weather locally before I have to head back down to Charlottesville.

Didn’t realize it had been that dry in my corner of Arlington.

HRRR and 3k NAM are not too enthused for today. Had a little drizzle this morning, that might be it!

Outflow boundary going to cross over the Beltway, perhaps it’ll allow a storm to fire up.

I like surprise storm days even when I dont get hit. Glad some people got some rain and a little T&L.

That storm really rained itself out. Got some decent lightning photos. Parking lot scenery though.

I’ve been outside for six hours. It’s a little hot today. Heat Madness is beginning to set in.

Had a nice pop-up downpour a couple minutes ago so at least I don’t have to go turn the sprinklers on. Hopefully I don’t end up the winner of the day.
