The derecho achieved 55 mph winds here which I know is well under most 2010 is easily the most severe thunderstorm season for me with 3 events 70mph+ and one where NWS surveyed this neighborhood and referenced wind streak possibly of 90. Kenny, over by the Arboretum there is a plaque referencing the one that pushed all those whole trees down and I think it mentions gusts to 110. After 2010,11, 12 I was worried as they were torrid but really only one real hot since then

Probably closer to -0.5 for June because in my above estimate I was including Friday not realizing “30 days hath June”

June will end up -0.3 so my idea of heat not being able to take over was correct. My call for -1 was good. I think the cool air pushes will be tough from now on so still think July and August look +1 to +2. its will be difficult though for those months to achieve more than 10-15 90+ each month. I still like my call of 35 total

1.3” here and nice 67 although sun looks to take over in hour or two . Record highs followed quickly by record low and rare persistent rain training due north to south.

Got about 3 minutes of moderate rain from round 1. Round 2 line now descending -
Wow That first of June torrid streak 2011 (I think) they did hit in advance but departing highs just aren’t setting up over Bermuda so far. They are weak also, not 30.30+ that nothing can budge for long time.

Tuesday looked 90-95 48 hours ago but now not. Maybe one day 90+ but 100 not in cards. Who was saying that?

9:15pm tonight could still catch a baseball standing 10 feet apart. At 9:17 we started dropping the throws

48 tied low record at IAD. BWI new record if 51. So in 48 hours we had record setting/tying high temps then low temps.

Summer solstice just days away and temp at DCA has risen just 2 degrees since 8am. It’s not even cloudy although not fully sunny.

Has refreshed a lot 88 at 8 so C+ on that call and 81 at 10 so A on that for BWI

96 for a high Got back home and have a 15 foot long 4.5” diameter fully leafed snd healthy looking limb down. Splintered and not a clean snap off i had gusts to 35 but that’s not unusual. Could this have been a heat stress related situation?

Drying out westerly winds really amazing in peak seasonal sunshine It will be fun to watch the rapid temp drop post sunset From 90 at 8 to 80 at 10 to 70 by midnight to 60 by 4am to 55 for a low at BWI.

Kenny I wondering if fact that Annapolis was 72-75 most afternoon and IAD 82-85 and if what caused that is causing the die off also?
