  1. I cannot Ever recall having seen a more brilliant orange sky
  2. 0.65” in 20 minutes and 35 mph winds. Got a video from Bowie and those winds were intense, looked like 65 mph
  3. I think over last 20 years this has become more determinant for us and Enso less so. We gotta have the “right” cold air. SSW and Mjo is still hard to find predictability in. Get the negative nap/ao that’s not misplaced too far south and see what happens with other factors.
  4. I will look that up, like you said you would about the number of 90’s, and get back to you!?$&!?
  5. 2006 was my most impressive personal rain event ever. 8.5” when done and visited Lewisdale properties with basements full of water to the ceiling and water gushing out the side doors up the stairwell when opened.
  6. Been the pattern last 3/4 events and I presume this one will fill in and expand later or it will be drier
  7. Thank you Ma*teo. That rural winter place-you going to do it again?
  8. 9 Nineties so far. What year long ago did DCA have just 7? Been nothing near that since. Was that Pinatubo summer?
  9. I was In that utter torrential near Beltway 95 north ramps at 9:30. Any radar scan from then?
  10. Downpour from Greenbelt to Silver Spring 30-40mph on beltway entire trip. Think I was in 3”ph rates.
  11. Another strong front and daytime highs -10 for Sat and Sun?
  12. Breezy here and looks like heavy storms 5 miles north of me. I can hear them.
  13. 1.7 for me and over 4 just 5 mikes to north
  14. It’s like I’m circled by towering clouds but can see stars straight up
  15. Watch the radar intervals every 10-15 minutes it fades and next 10-15 refires then fades then fires
  16. Baltimore to DC was crazy. Couple 10 second Thunder rumbles in flashes those towering looked 35,000+. Any data on that?
  17. Here is a bold one DCA has already hit it highest temperature for the summer
  18. Will be coolest June since 2009 Hmmmm
  19. The derecho achieved 55 mph winds here which I know is well under most 2010 is easily the most severe thunderstorm season for me with 3 events 70mph+ and one where NWS surveyed this neighborhood and referenced wind streak possibly of 90. Kenny, over by the Arboretum there is a plaque referencing the one that pushed all those whole trees down and I think it mentions gusts to 110. After 2010,11, 12 I was worried as they were torrid but really only one real hot since then
  20. Probably closer to -0.5 for June because in my above estimate I was including Friday not realizing “30 days hath June”
  21. June will end up -0.3 so my idea of heat not being able to take over was correct. My call for -1 was good. I think the cool air pushes will be tough from now on so still think July and August look +1 to +2. its will be difficult though for those months to achieve more than 10-15 90+ each month. I still like my call of 35 total
  22. Strong Ninos overwhelm DC with warmth. Really cold on the backside. Ray is brilliant
