The nam definitely still does better in the mid levels than most of our other options, and shouldnt be ignored. But its a huge fail north of where that warm push initially made it to.

Damn thats impressive. We had 1.5” in about 50 mins but then got stuck between bands until the last 15 mins or so. Hope we catch back up lol

This is the nyc metro area discussion forum. Not the mount holly discussion. I am specifically discussing how just because the nam nailed one area and completely failed in another doesnt mean its worth any more weight than another model that failed here and nailed down there. That argument literally makes no sense and its just pessimistic nonsense by people who are (rightfully) upset ahout their snow not happening.

100%. But being correct by accident in some places while being incredibly wrong in other doesnt mean it performed better lol. As of 7 pm its the worst model for anyone north of nyc.

Lets not go nuts congratulating the NAM guys, i mean christ this is just a big a bust in the other direction. The warm mid levels were def underestimated by some models. But claiming the nam nailed anything in this subforum is probably luck, because wtf is this nonsense lol

This is my thinking too. Nam is prob too aggressive, but its most likely closer to reality than the coldest models. From southern bk and queens on a rough line through my area and a bit further west id be shocked if we didnt go to sleet long enough to cut accums by a decent amount.
