    We have had sleet and some snow showers here in Central Wisconsin this late afternoon.

    38 degrees with a stiff wind in Central Wisconsin.

    A nice cool cloudy couple of days. The colors are starting to really come out here in central Wisconsin. Today's high at home was 49.

    A nice cold rain up here this morning with a temp of 38 degrees. It's crazy the cutoff from fall weather to summer like weather.

    Had a heavy freeze here in Wisconsin. Got down to 29 degrees in Wausau at home.

    Was a beautiful day with a high of 57 degrees and a current temp of 54 degrees. Very fall like.

    Got our first frost this morning up here in Wausau Wisconsin. Had readings from 33 to 37 degrees coming from Fond du lac to Wausau this morning.

    Yeah the Euro has been bumping up heights in the West the past few runs and digging the trough a bit more in the east. Let's get that look under 5 days and see how it goes.

    Yep I live about 10 minutes from Rib mountain off of exit 190. I was pleasantly surprised at the elevation up at Rib mountain when I visited there this summer. It is beautiful up there.

    Yeah when I moved to Wisconsin I didn't think I would be working in temps near 90 in September... For us up in Wausau Wisconsin that looks to end tonight though. Storms will be blowing through with temps dropping into the 60s for highs for several days

    Rosman has a micro climate of it's own here in WNC. Almost like a temperate rainforest climate.

    You can see on the radar where the moisture really deepens in the mountains coming from the east. Pretty impressive for sure. HT that is impressive already. Stay safe out there fellas.

    Yeah I noticed that. The thing with this is that subtle changes in the track will cause big changes on precipitation amounts. Also the models usually always underestimate the amount of precipitation coming in on the leeward side of the mountains.

    Thank you. Family is more important than money so it's an easy decision to make.

    Yeah I am finalizing my plans to head back home now. As it goes with HR things are never done quickly enough. My moms cancer came back and I need to be back home. I hate I'm going to miss this event. There are a lot of changes that can continue down the road. Nothing is set in stone currently but if it moves south and keeps that moisture fetch off the Atlantic and the mountains are in the Northeast side of this thing then we could be seeing flooding like we did in 2004. Especially since the mountains have seen so much rain already this year. Isn't Asheville in second with precipitation totals so far for the year?

    Looks like worst case scenario for you guys in the mountains currently with the track being further south and the storm moving very slow.

    No the job is fine. I'm doing and learning the job as needed but there have been some things in my personal life that have transpired that I feel like I must come back for. If I stay up in Wisconsin it will only be for money and nothing else and I'm no that happy up here.

    Lol yeah. Summer is usually slow here. Although the mountains have had a lot of rain this season. Hopefully I'm coming back to WNC soon so I'll be back.

    Yeah today is warm but that will be short lived.

    Yeah looks like a quick warm up... I mean maybe 5 degrees above normal before a big cold front comes through.

    I just noticed on the NAM that the piedmont may have some light icing going on tonight into tomorrow morning.

    Glad I don't live there. We still have snow in the ground with a frozen ground to add to that. Also the Euro is showing a cool down for around in two days then another much bigger cool down in 7 days again. I don't look at the GFS much anyways. We have been below average since Christmas anyways.

    East of us have already cashed in this year. they are running like 700 percent above normal. It has already been a banner year for them. The cold air has been very impressive also. This has been an impressive winter already for several. Glad to see most get into the action.

    I doubt that... The models show an up and down with the pattern. We will have warm ups and cool downs in the mean time. No torch look though currently.
