  1. GFS still being consistent with the Thursday storm. We’re just south enough on the 18z run to get some good stuff. Pretty clear the first storm will just be light snow/mix.
  2. Well every now and then, the GFS sniffs something out that the others don’t. Confidence is still not high, but maybe that Euro run is progress.
  3. Looking at a nice, solid event. Probably nothing major, but that could come after.
  4. It would be a shame if we wasted the cold, unless there was a record breaking cold spell, which isn’t close to a given.
  5. Too far out to expect every whole run to be good, though. We’ll see if most of the runs show anything tomorrow.
  6. Hi Walt! Hope you had a good Christmas. Agreed that doesn’t look good for those two events. What do you think of the 1/4 timeframe? GFS has been hinting at a storm coming up the coast.
  7. I was disappointed. I don’t think I even got as much as the Philly airport. But on the bright side, it was already better than anything I got last winter.
  8. All this heavy precip being wasted on sleet here - really a shame.
  9. Hearing some sleet now. Didn’t want it this early.
  10. The snow has been pretty fine here and not big flakes, but rates definitely picked up. Haven’t measured but looks like around 2.5 inches.
  11. Getting a heavier band now, but I am going to need the precip to last longer as snow. Temp still okay around 27 degrees.
  12. Up to an inch here. Haven’t seen much of the heavy rates yet.
  13. Temp has leveled out here at about the same. There’s a coating so far.
  14. Sounds good, and I like 6-10” for my area. Could be more. Snow is coming in early.
  15. After the new GFS run, the NAM looks on its own. But still a little concerning just HOW little the NAM had.
  16. Haven’t seen the snow maps. Does it cut back for the northern suburbs?
  17. 00z NAM actually cut down a little from 18z in Montco. Dryslot issues maybe?
  18. Have one here for 12+ inches. A little concerned that the mix might even come up here, but still a day of tracking.
  19. But you don’t know they will continue to go north. Perhaps the blocking even makes it go a bit south tomorrow.
  20. I don’t agree that it will be THAT NW. I still think NYC gets into decent snowfall. It will take a while to pin down where the rain/mix line sets up.
  21. It’s about the only model that dryslots Montgomery and Bucks counties, isn’t it?
  22. According to the map in the NYC forum, the CMC still gives the city 9” and me 12+”.
