September is a summer month.

And even with watches/warnings some people simply don’t get the message. Even as a weather enthusiast, the March 2010 Nor’easter caught me completely off guard, I’d known nothing about it at all, it was simply a normal day, until it wasn’t. We were in Garden State Plaza all day and stepped outside into what resembled a landfalling Hurricane, just minutes before the mall lost power. Being on the GWB during all of this, as it was closing, is still my #1 wildest/scariest weather moment, the wind gusts were literally lifting up the front of our vehicle, and MOVING it, in the outer lane, in heavy traffic. Those gusts had to be well in excess of 100mph, I don’t know how they kept that bridge open for as long as they did.

Wild.

I’m in Queens and some blocks look like they were hit by a literal tsunami, filthy cars and debris all over the place, and then the next block over it looks as if nothing happened. The LIE is covered in sand/mud/rocks with muddy cars strewn about, I’ve never seen anything like this.

This feels like the rain equivalent of that early snowstorm that paralyzed the city in 2018, except this event is more significant.

Literally me but with the flash flood warning. My phone instantly received the emergency alert when I briefly crossed over the boundary.

Lol that 3hr “record” will probably stand forever, but I think the official 24hr record is in jeopardy in this era of mega-rain.

Front working its way in now. Temp spiking into the 70’s. 0.70” so far. Off and on downpours, nothing remotely wild.

How does a tropical system spawn a tornado that large? That looks more EF3/4 than EF0/1.

0.09” so far. Also can’t recall the last time we were under a Tornado Watch, they’re so rare that even Tornado Warnings occur with greater frequency.

Nice surprise stationary storm. I’m on the outer edge of it so not much rain but there’s a good amount of lightning. Areas underneath this storm must be flooding.

The Jersey Shore is basically Central Florida now.

The last 4 days have all over-performed here with heat. 93, 96, 93, 97.

Topped out at 97 here, hottest day of the year.
