  1. It’d be nice if we could have westerly winds all spring until the ocean warms up.
  2. 64 here, already warmer than yesterday’s high of 62.
  3. Topped out at 62 here, low was 37. It’s no 75 but coming out of winter anything above 60 feels pleasant.
  4. High of 61 so far. Slight edge to the NWS.
  5. We’ll see, I think we’ll be fine (knock on wood).
  6. NWS saying 64, TWC saying 55. Models tend to treat Long Island as if it’s a buoy in the Atlantic so I trust the NWS here, the only time Long Island doesn’t keep pace with NYC/NJ is when it’s socked in with clouds/fog. It’s already 50 under cloudy skies, even if we somehow managed to stay under cloudy skies the whole day we’d likely still go beyond 55.
  7. It’s crazy how many late Dec 60’s we’ve been seeing in recent years. 66 here currently, warmest day since Nov 27th which had a high of 67.
  8. Not even 10 AM yet and it’s already the warmest day of the year so far...at only 56 degrees. I hit 55 in January.
  9. Low of 21 here, currently 23. Winds haven’t let up at all.
  10. 55 and sunny in Mt. Holly. 50 and barf at home.
  11. Temp shot up to 48 overnight, might hold as today’s high. Low was 40, it’s currently 42. Yesterday’s high was 53. Snowpack is almost fully annihilated.
  12. Looks awfully early spring-like in the near term. Snow cover took a decent hit today, but it’s the ugly ice mountains that’ll persist well into March. I want it all gone.
  13. It’d be a nice change of pace if we can break the BN March curse. Spring has really sucked around here since like 2012.
  14. 5.0” OTG. Light to moderate snow. 31/30. 1/6th of an inch of ice on tree branches.
  15. Lol I’m probably one of the least weeniest members here, I hate winter. Those flakes were supersized, likely the largest I’ve ever seen. It’s sleeting now.
  16. OKC is in plant hardiness zone 7a with an average annual minimum temperature between 0F to 5F, -14F is zone 5b, nearly zone 5a (-15 to -20), almost a full 20 degrees colder than their average annual minimum. NYC, LGA, JFK, EWR, and ISP are in hardiness zone 7b, with an average annual minimum temperature between 5F and 10F. A cold blast of that magnitude would put us around -10F.
  17. 48 here with breaks of sun. High of 53 so far. 0.96” of rain. Snow is being obliterated, huge sections of grass now visible.
  18. True for Central Park but not at the other official sites. That’s insane. Fahrenheit nor Celsius even matter at that point.
