  1. 21 days, this is ridiculous for late summer / early Fall.
  2. 0.58” event total, the vast majority of which fell after midnight. Winds were roaring overnight but luckily I only saw one downed tree.
  3. 0.01” so far. Forgot eastern sections were under a Wind Advisory, it’s dead calm right now.
  4. Not seeing much/any turning foliage here, but then again everything’s salt-burned and/or partially bald from Isaias. Hoping to jackpot for a change.
  5. 76/67 split here today. Couldn’t stay clear long enough to make a run at 80, unlike yesterday which hit 83. 0.05” fell last evening, 0.01” fell overnight.
  6. 83/64 split today. Cleared out for a bit before clouding back over.
  7. A little bit of clearing and now it’s in the 80’s, dews in the 70’s, this is perfect.
  8. Models really treat Long Island like the ocean.
  9. 81 here, low was 49. Edit: High of 82. Much more appropriate for Sept.
  10. Speaking of wildfires.... Long Island’s Pine Barrens are even more susceptible to drought, it’s become a yearly occurrence, while Jersey’s Pine Barrens are much larger and more susceptible to lightning, either way it’s a disaster waiting to happen. Pines are highly flammable, and the amount of dry brush, fallen trees, and other dead plant material in the understory makes it worse.
  11. I can see the very clearly defined edge of Hurricane Teddy looking east.
  12. It’s too early (for me) and it came out of nowhere.
  13. Later on I’ll fiddle with my weather radio to see if it gets a stronger connection from Manhattan or Riverhead (weak).
  14. Dipped down to 49 (today’s low) but now back at 50. High was 64.
  15. Did not fall into the 40’s last night, surprisingly. ISP hit 48, I hit 50. Yesterday both hit 49.
  16. Strange, but it matches the airport obs so yours is probably more accurate.
  17. 63/36 right now. High was 67, low was 49. Lowest dews since the first half of May, DP hit 33 today.
  18. 49 for the low this morning, currently 58. 51 degrees with a strong breeze at 4 AM felt like 25 degrees to my summer acclimated self. Too early for this.
  19. First time seeing blue skies in 5 days, the smoke appears to be largely gone.
  20. 53 this morning, a shock to the system. High of 79 yesterday, would’ve been in the 80’s if not for the smoke.
  21. Looked like that here a few hours ago, my initial thought was smoke, but since it was somewhat cloudy earlier I wasn’t sure. Sky here is blue right now though.
