  1. 87/77 (HI 97). Topped out at 91, temps leveled off just after 11.
  2. While I do applaud the NWS for trying to simplify their alerts, most of the confusion seems to be Watch vs Warning. “Watch” ultimately tells me nothing and should really be replaced with “Advisory”, because that’s all it is. “Warning” is obvious and should remain. In my opinion, “Tornado Advisory” not only sounds better, but it’d give the general public a better understanding of the situation than “Tornado Watch” currently does.
  3. I genuinely feel LGA is going to see a low of 90°F within the next decade. If not 90°F I at least expect the current record of 86°F to fall sooner rather than later, considering LGA has done it thrice already.
  4. Still hot here though, the heat index topped out at 102 with a high temp of “only” 88. I get the feeling that this is going to be a summer full of 89’s here.
  5. Heavy sun showers in Bayonne. Nice to finally see convection.
  6. 0.75” here. High of 84 here, morning low of 70, currently 62.
  7. Topped out at 79 here, DP made it feel a bit hotter than that however. Call me weird but I love the combination of this thick humid air + a nice breeze.
  8. Finally getting a some decent rains. First inch+ per hour rates in quite a while.
  9. 90 here, a bit unexpected.
  10. First measurable precip of the day here falling now. Sky is really lighting up to the south over the ocean. Makes no sense why the Atlantic and the LI Sound do so much better with storms than LI itself.
  11. 89/78 right now under the sea breeze boundary. It was just 92 with a lower DP like 2 minutes ago.
  12. I live on the wrong side of the region. Sky clouding up, temp down to 82/75.
  13. Our dews are similar. 85/77 (HI 95) here. Grass is dry.
  14. These tweets are aggravating. KNYC needs to take a direct hit from an EF1 sometime between now and Sept.
  15. 90 already. Topped out at 86 yesterday.
  16. I’d trust a PWS with decent siting more before I’d trust anything coming out of KNYC.
  17. I was on the verge of being clipped by the southern edge of it, and then that part fizzled out lol. Still had some decent thunder and lightning out of it at least. 0.06” here, all light rain.
  18. Impressive thunder with the occasional CTG, looks like it’ll be a near-miss with the torrential rains though.
  19. All the best severe events for Long Island tend to happen on [connection failed]
