  1. Mood flakes seem to be underrated on here, I’m surprised no one’s mentioned it. I’ll take snow squalls and mood flakes any day of the week over the higher impact systems (unless thundersnow is present).
  2. I measured slightly over a quarter of an inch, rounded to 0.3” to make it easy. First measurable snow since Feb 18-20.
  3. Finally crossed the 50” mark this morning.
  4. December 21st in Centereach, NY: The tree on the left is still mostly green, and the trees that have turned must’ve done so recently as the leaves are still hydrated, otherwise they would’ve blown off in the recent wind events.
  5. I’m tired of people acting like 60 degrees in December is “climate catastrophe”. This isn’t Dec 2015.
  6. NYC could stand some Clorox for non-COVID reasons.
  7. I agree, December is about as transitional as March. These types of super-torch winter patterns have been largely restricted to Eurasia, I was wondering when it’d be North America’s turn.
  8. Our annual December torch appears to be right on schedule.
  9. Light snow in Huntington. First flakes I’ve seen.
  10. Got down to 26 with very heavy frost. Coldest temp of the season, on the very last day of the season (meteorologically).
  11. First freeze (and heavy frost) here, low was 31.
  12. Will I see hail for the first time in my life today? (Knocking on all wood in a 50ft radius) 62 with full sunshine here, winds have been occasionally gusty.
  13. Foliage is all over the place here. London Planes are balding while some oaks, ginkgos, etc. range from fully green to peak.
  14. My low this morning was 60. High of 66, currently 56.
  15. LGA made into January without a freeze a few years ago.
