  1. They are pretty thick here. Virtually no hunting pressure and plenty of TWRA food plots. They built one big one very close to my property.
  2. I believe this is all still synoptic snow rather than NW flow snow. My precip is moving basically west to east and it looks like there's even a SW component to it at times. Looks like the NW flow snow is out west still with the streamers pointed towards Nashville.
  3. Snow has really picked up and is moderate with around 1/2 mile visibility. Hopefully we can get several hours of this after dark.
  4. I think it was February 2015 when the EPO drove us into Polar Vortex land and it just blasted MJO, +NAO and all that into near meaninglessness.
  5. If we can get an EPO ridge where that one is depicted we tend to mute then MJO to a large extent. The EPO can he epic or stink though. It it's west based at all we get the SE Ridge.
  6. About to drive up to 2800 feet above my house here. I suspect there might be at least a heavy dusting up there. Maybe more. Probably 30 degree or so at that elevation.
  7. Nice quarter + sized flakes rolling down now. Because it's day time and the ground is warm, not much sticking yet. I'd guess 300 feet above me will be.
  8. Light snow here. Looks like the band that was pivoting my way kinda hit the breaks and really blossomed to the west and south in the mid state.
  9. I hope you can pull off some decent rates today if nothing else. I've seen NNW flow here fire up bands that stretch all the way into Northern Knox. The next batch of precip appears to be moving almost due East. If it doesn't dry up coming off the Plateau Roane through Knox will likely see snow from it.
  10. MRX bumped my chance and totals back up again. Today Rain showers or snow showers in the morning, then snow showers or rain showers likely in the afternoon. Snow accumulation up to 1 inch possible, especially over the higher elevations. Highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s. West winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 80 percent. Tonight Cloudy. Snow showers likely until early morning, then a chance of snow showers late. Snow accumulation up to 2 inches. total snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible, especially over the higher elevations. Lows in the mid to upper 20s. West winds 5 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 70 percent.
  11. My data on 850s was from 8am. It appears that as of 9am the 850 freezing line had cleared the entire state besides Bristol eastward. I wouldn't wager your temps will do anything but fall the rest of the day.
  12. It is about on schedule. It was a slow process. I started dropping about 2.5 hours after Shocker. The 850 line runs from about Cumberland Gap to Murphy NC right now. It's probably past you and only clipping East Knox. I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the precip today, even in the valley, is snow when its heavy, drizzle otherwise.
  13. Short range models and hi-res models really nailed that changeover from Bowling Green down into Middle Tennessee.
  14. It's 41 in Cookeville, 43 in Nashville and 39 in Clarksville. You're getting close to being on the West side of the low. The front appears to be from Clarksville to Jackson.
  15. That area has been consistently high across modeling. I think you should be looking at 2 or 3 inches at least.
  16. The southeast areas are upslope, the areas west of there appear to be heavy synoptic snow that is part of the same band than gets Middle Tennessee and there's a gap between the two where the synoptic band misses and the upslope doesn't happen.
  17. The 39hr 03z RAP was pretty decent from the Plateau west especially. I don't have a way to see it up close at the county view level but it looked like a lot of Middle Tennessee was in the 1-2 inch area.
