Being a geology major and on an airplane during this as I flew to Puerto Rico for work only to miss Irene after was a real kick in the rocks (pun intended). I've had some horrible luck as I missed the '09-10 winter living in Alabama (the only year I didn't live "here").

I’m no expert but here looks like straight line wind damage. Uprooted trees and such. I had never seen the wind come “up” my street from the south though.

Upgrade is very nice! Any word on the tornado surveys in Arlington yet? Driving around the neighborhood is quite impressive with debris just about everywhere. Saw several large limbs on parked cars.

Does the Euro have anything for the Caribbean system this weekend? Flying to St. Thomas Saturday and seeing the GFS with something the day we fly in has me a smidge nervous.

About 1.7" last night on my station in Arlington in a little over an hour. Trashcans were a complete mess last night floating down the street. Running out with the constant flashes probably wasn't my best idea.

Embid is going to get his no matter who is guarding him. They need all the scoring help they can get. Make the rest of the Sixers beat them. Maybe Embid will get bit by a mosquito or is dealthy afraid of cicadas and misses a few games. LOL

Len still started but Gafford played way more than against Boston. 5 blocks! Hopefully he and Lopez get the majority of minutes vs the Sixers.

Wizards fans....can we start a petition to not play Alex Len as many minutes (or any) and have Gafford/Lopez do a rotation. Thanks, Management

Definitely seeing the first flying swarms of them today. Had the son in the backyard with a badminton racket trying to swat them.

Son was able to collect double digits and bring them home. A noticeable uptick from previous days.

This is a VERY tasty one from Port City.

Not overpowering for this IPA I picked up at Total wine. Had never heard of the brewery but it’s very good. Thin Man Brewery in Buffalo.

It mixes well when you use thyme, oregano, parsely, basil when you really want to get a good Greek flavor. Not on the smoker, but I cut chicken breasts into strips, grill them, then chop and toss them in the skillet with olive oil and the mix and it makes a mean Greek flavored chicken. Get some good NAAN with the taziki, hummus, cucumbers and tomatoes and its a crowd pleaser.

Black pepper, salt, paprika, thyme, oregano, garlic, onion powder and a sprinkle of cinnamon. I didn't use any wood this time but the bird drippings provide plenty of smoke without it(family complains it gets too smoky) so its just charcoal at 275-300 for 3 hours. Think the key is to pat the bird down with a paper towel then coat the whole thing in butter. It's kind of a mix flavor between a greek style versus Peruvian but we went with plantains and rice instead of Taziki and hummus this go 'round. I use Hardwood Hickory Lump charcoal.

Still one of my favorite things to do on the smoker. Whole chicken, brined in salt/sugar water then covered in butter with spices that are almost Peruvian like. Fried plantains and rice on the side.

The one and only time we get death banded.
