  1. Sitting at 0.81 as the steadier stuff moves off. Very nice! 3 tornado warnings south of Richmond near the VA/NC border
  2. Just incredible. I was in college in Tallahassee and my parents called to tell me about a huge snowstorm. I couldn't believe what I was hearing! We had some dull winters during my HS years in southern MD then soon after I leave Jan 1987 and Nov 1987 happened LOL
  3. Very happy with the rain we are getting and there's more to the south moving in. Much needed especially with a lot of new grass in place.
  4. Dulles records 81/65 for +23.6 yesterday, with 8 cooling degree days If it gets as cold as advertised after next weekend it is going to feel harsh!
  5. What an effect those clouds had -- 41 here and 43 near Frederick. Meanwhile upper 20s and low 30s near Raleigh, NC and all the way into SC. They froze before us! Even Tallahassee is 37
  6. My parents still talk about that one. They lived in the Cheverly area of PG County and say they watched those old metal trash cans blowing uphill on streets and trees bending halfway down.
  7. The next two days are gonna be great! Dry off those grills
  8. Hard to believe these were the highs at DCA the first three weeks of last October:
  9. We had dinner at Herrington Harbor a couple months back while visiting family down there and I saw how low-lying that area is. If there are NE winds of 20-30 with gusts to 40 all afternoon and night as forecasted, will that push water in there?
  10. "Snow has only been recorded in September one other time, way back in 1967" A good snow season followed for us with 30.5" at Dulles. Lock it in?
  11. Someone sent me that video and I thought that can't be Naples, can it? Then I looked at twitter and there are multiple bad clips out of there. I thought they would have done better but no
  12. Looks like Timmer's feed has frozen for now? This guy is at the same place (was just with Timmer a few minutes ago). St. James City reporting gusts of 84 Chris Tornado
  13. Yeah it will spare Tampa/St Pete the worst as the counter-clockwise winds north of the center will be blowing toward the bay and Gulf. A hit at or just north would have been devastating as it would have pushed a monster storm surge right into that shallow, funnel-shaped bay. There will be some wind damage but Tampa mostly dodged a huge bullet
  14. The link below from Heavy.com has a number of working webcams and links to some chasers Links to cams and chasers
  15. Never seen it and just looked at an aerial shot. What the heck...looks like Earth was taken over by the Borg
  16. Looking at obs in the Keys -- check out that hx to go with the wind
  17. Just found out they are heading due east and then will head south to Boca. They'll sit in some serious traffic but that will work. Glad they didn't try to head south on I-75!
  18. Yikes just found out my 20-something niece, husband and BABY who were in Destin flew to Tampa to get his boat and take it to Ft Lauderdale. They're in south Tampa now and think they're gonna head south then east on I-75. Uhhh, I-75 south is JAMMED and now there are jams eastbound from Naples towards Ft Lauderdale. I think they should head NORTH out of Tampa back towards the panhandle area. Thoughts?
  19. Some 4-5 inch rainfall amounts showing up just east and SE of the Tampa area for the last 24 hours. Not helpful
  20. GFS has it bearing down on Pensacola next Sat while Euro has it in Sydney, NS. Wild
  21. Went to our Costco Tuesday and was surprised by lit Christmas trees and a couple rows of decorations. C'mon man! Looking forward to some nice fall weather coming up
  22. Only 0.07 because it was a line of summer-like thunderstorms which almost always fails here. We do well in the stratiform rain events like last week but thunderstorms nasomuch. I was a kid in Calvert and remember decent summer T-storms. Man here is is unreal as we are lucky to get 2 or 3 thunderstorms in an entire summer.
  23. It's been unreal over there. One CoCoRaHS spot close to Ocean City has just 1.11 from August 1 to today
  24. That is some pretty heavy looking rain moving from southern PA into NW MD. This will sound crazy coming from me but do not need LOL The light rain last night and this morning has been beneficial though
  25. This is CoCoRaHS for a spot just east of Clarksburg and a couple miles NE of me; iWeather zoomed in on the same spot has 3.93. I thought the iWeather map was pretty spot on but does it sometimes over-estimate by that much?
