    Hi resolution NAM has ground scraping LCLs for parts of Mississippi and Alabama tomorrow evening, should make for some impressive tornadoes if the other ingredients come together.

    Snowing pretty good in Altoona PA now, snow doesn't need much of a northern trajectory to give most of us a light snowfall event.

    I officially hit warning criteria snow here in SI with 6 inches, still snowing pretty good but it will end very soon based on radar.

    Temps aloft are pretty cold and winds are all northerly, once solid precipitation engulfs the entire area temperatures will be somewhat more uniform. Steady snow here and 34 degrees.

    That'll likely change if more models come in NW. In fact, I think it's quite likely that Rockland County sees warning level snow.

    Closing in on 16 inches here, I have a few miles and a few hundred feet elevation on Uncle so I did a bit better than southern parts of SI.

    About the same, though there is a warm nose afterwards as precipitation lightens up so the following few hours have some sleet.

    Great front end thump for everyone but with the storm so close to the coast on models now, these dry slots almost always penetrate deeper inland than modelled. 8-12 is a very realistic call.

    Mobile Regional Airport with a gust to 91 mph just now , pretty impressive considering how far inland Zeta is. Edit; gymengineer types faster than me.

    Today looks like a bad day unfortunately, with well over 1,000 deaths based on the states still left to report. While Tuesday always features inflated numbers due to a lag in weekend reporting, this is still going to be the highest one in about 6 weeks. Not a great trend but at least it's not rising at the same pace as new cases.

    Not sure where to post this but the supercell NW of Rapid City ND looks beastly. It's currently warned for tennis ball sized hail.

    Very bad day for MI unfortunately with 232 new deaths reported, I wonder if it's due to a lag in weekend reporting. I think there's an increase pretty much everywhere every Tuesday and Wednesday.

    The NYC gust bet would've been a good one if it was only for central park, but it's gutsy to bet against JFK and LGA not gusting to 50, JFK has gusted past 50 in much more mundane storms.
