    Middle to Northern Jersey are becoming, frankly, dangerous areas to live. I know a few of you “joked” in the past about it becoming the new tornado alley but it has definitely become a haven for severe thunderstorms and rain inundations.

    Got a rogue cell over my neighborhood now. Starting to lighten up, but it was pouring for a minute there. Edit: pouring again.

    Another heavy looking round of thunderstorms going through middle Jersey that could affect Brooklyn/Long Island if they stay intact.

    That was interesting weather to play soccer in. Muggy as hell, wet as hell, sweaty as hell. Fun to play, uncomfortable as hell.

    Isaias. Yeah was pretty gusty. Had to drive from south shore to north shore about 4pm and saw plenty of damage. Power at Huntington LIRR was out.

    I’m hoping it never happens, one of the biggest things I worry about on this island. Cat 3 or worse would be catastrophic for us.

    Looks like Western Suffolk to Middle Island about to get some serious rain in the next hour. West and east of that…not so much. Amazing how much the sky has changed in my train ride west.

    I remember feeling like there’d be snow on the ground from around Christmas to early March every year. The last couple of years have definitely been a huge disappointment in terms of snow.

    We’ve gone from getting at least one snow storm a cold month, in the past, to, understandably, frothing at the mouth for a 6-inch event, lol

    No wind, but yeah, about the same size hail here. I heard it against my house and then opened up my front door (I just got home about 15min ago) and could actually see it, which is a first for me. Can’t get snow on NYE, but hail? Yeah, sure lol

    Hailing. In West Babylon. Like, legit hail. LOL, how did the NWS not even issue a warning for this? Especially considering the time of year.

    There wasn’t a severe warning for any of the area, no? Train ride all the way from Jamaica to Rockville Centre has been a deluge. worst of it looks to still be off the coast heading right for the Queens/Nassau.

    Just saw the sickest lightning bolt to the south of me on the train just east of Jamaica station. Wow.

    Went to a funeral service and the church shook a few times. Couldn’t believe it. Definitely gustier today.
