I hope this is alright to ask in this thread…but I have a 10-mile run to do on Saturday morning which seems to fall smack dab between what Walt is talking about on Friday and this possible Sunday into Monday coastal storm. I already see the NWS calling for a low of 10 on Friday night to a “high” of 23 for Saturday. Running 10 miles is daunting enough in the first place, but can any of you tell me what the wind is gonna be like on Saturday morning? The run is in the Blue Point/Patchogue area on the South Shore of LI. Thanks in advance, I have to work until 1am the night before, so I’d like to have what clothes I’m running in, in advance.

Really coming down here in Long Beach. Couple of inches easily already down with big, fat flakes falling everywhere. Pretty stiff NNW breeze too. Chilly.

I’m already working some overnight OT, bring it. I might get 4 straight shifts between tonight and tomorrow if this plays out right. I’m working in Long Beach now so if we can get like 5-6” min, jackpot.

NWS is calling for 4-8” but we’re under an Advisory. I would think that gets bumped up to a WSW no?

The wind is ridiculous right now. I’m topping 40mph on gusts easily right now. Every freaking week, another wind event. I’m so tired of it but I know it’s going nowhere.

2 random observations: I can’t believe there are still leaves on the trees, mid-to-late November and I can’t believe I mowed my lawn the same day we put up our Christmas tree.

Driving home from work about 45 minutes ago, car said it was 32. Didn’t really feel like 32, there is zero breeze, but that’s the coldest temp I’ve seen this Fall.

Jesus. Just got a tornado warning for Christ’s sake. It’s freaking November 13th!

I’m just surprised. It was calm all day and there was no weather like this forecasted. First gust really caught me off guard. It’s funny (and typical) because it’s pretty gusty and I got these idiots in my neighborhood blowing off fireworks.

I’m getting easy 30+mph gusts right now. Why?
