    I don’t know. I want to say it was 2016, but I was told I had no work and it was a legit blizzard and I went out (with my German Shepherd) to shovel like 2am and it was one of the most exhilarating nights of my life. Somehow it was harrowing and peaceful all at once. There was no one out and I just let the snow hit me in the face for a few minutes.

    Damn. Kicking here now. Worst of the rain and wind right now. Wish I could see any of it. Windiest it’s been all Summer. Almost 40mph probably. Lightning like crazy too.

    I can’t see anything outside right now but it is pouring here in SW Suffolk now and the winds are gusting the highest they have so far. At least 30-35mph. Rain just driving into the side of my house.

    I thank god I’m off tonight. Driving from the North Shore to the South at about 12:30am would not be something I’d be looking forward to.

    Theres a line of thunderstorms that look pretty serious in the eastern part of Delaware that look like they’re heading right to our area. Probably a good 4 hours away at least.

    Sorry for the banter, but we’ve gotten to the point where everything is on the table when it comes to the entire Metro area. Literally, anything can happen, weather-wise, here, given the time of year. It’s insane. This is dangerous.

    That kind of storm that’s produced those 2 tornados looks like it’s heading right for NNJ, east of Port Jervis/Middletown/west Orange County. Good luck to those in that path. Freaking nasty looking

    Keep getting really lucky here in SW Suffolk dodging these cells, but something tells me I’m about an hour or so away from running out of that luck. Did a quick outdoor sweep to make sure I have no projectiles flying around.

    Yep….same happened to me. I had water coming through the cracks of my basement for 2 straight days. That was a crappy weekend. I was renting at the time and my landlord did nothing so me and a few buddies stayed on water patrol until this guy finally showed up on Monday morning. Needless to say, I gave him a rent check that was half the amount because I figured that was about the amount of work I did. He bitched about it and I dared him to take me to court. I’d estimate I had a good 9-10”. I lost about 90% of my baseball cards and all my vinyl. My wife lost a lot of her family pics. I learned a rough lesson…don’t pack valuables in cardboard boxes.

    I couldn’t get a good picture of it with my phone, but the moon looks absolutely gorgeous right now, it’s very comfortable out and not a breeze to be felt. If you had told me this even just 24 hours ago I would have said you were crazy.

    I had to take a picture. It’s amazing the contrast between my front yard and back yard. Haha, I think I’m annoying my wife obsessing about it.

    Sky to my south is absolutely gorgeous. Sky to my north is as ominously gray as can get. No wind whatsoever.

    Finally got a decent gust here. Probably about 30mph. Been very little wind here at all in W. Bab. so far.

    I work in Huntington so I have often followed your posts. I know the winds, even after Isaias was “done,” were still ferocious even when the sun broke out about 4pm that day. So over that crap. I live on the SS, not near the water and I have noticed the NS has gotten the thunderstorms a little worse this Summer, so far. We’ve been relatively dry since mid-July (we were away week of aug 7, so I can’t attest to that).

    I think they (I assume you mean the media) jumped the gun so quickly because they were so far behind just 2 days ago and they’re now playing catch up. Being in W. suffolk I’m praying the East models play out, selfishly, because I’m sick of cleaning up broken crap and breaking down and discarding fallen trees. Frankly, a couple of inches of rain wouldn’t be the worst for my area. Most of these severe thunderstorms have missed my neighborhood. Just don’t want to deal with 60-70mph+ gusts.
