  1. This is guaranteed to get me weenied but I want to see a storm as bad as most of you but can a sub-980mb please not verify because that would be insane for this time of year and be a huge problem.
  2. It’s tough to get a real read on it but I’m guessing 8-10 inches here in town of Babylon. Shoveling a bitch as usual but very powdery snow unfortunately of no use to my kids yet but was fairly easy to push around for me. Definitely all sleet now for a good half-hour.
  3. Lovely ride home from Hartford. Left about 6:30, hit the snow around Bridgeport and then it was white knuckle time. Wasn’t surprised at the timing but rather the ferocity right out of the gate. There was no build up, just an immediate storm. Saw two accidents, one of them a guy flew by us doing at least 60/65mph, and a woman shitting herself while her tiny car was out of control. The look of her face was pure fear. Few cars spun around. Fun ride. Still got back in a little less than 3 hours. Hunkered in now.
  4. We are driving from Hartford back to Long Island on Sunday afternoon from my older’s volleyball tournament into the evening so…I’m fully expecting a storm and because we’ll be on the road, I’m taking full credit for it .
  5. I just got home from my train to Babylon, easily 4”. Reading this thread at my job, I was shocked. I thought it was 60 and sunny out.
  6. Didn’t look like much on the radar but packing a bit of a wallop.
  7. That line they’re talking about must be the one from Long Branch to Toms River. It doesn’t look as bad as what’s passed but that has to be it.
  8. I live in a pretty good area for electricity. I was pretty surprised when the lights flickered because it doesn’t happen often. Couple of house shakers for sure.
  9. By the time we were in Rockville Centre it had stopped and it’s not sunny but blue sky and puffy clouds. It had been drizzling/lightly raining in Lindenhurst about noon, but not like it was coming down in Freeport.
  10. Pouring and gusty in Freeport right now. lol, wtf?
  11. Winds already getting rather gusty here and we’re not even in the advisory window yet. Reading the other thread, I’m expecting this one to unfortunately over perform like yesterday did. Thanks all.
  12. Damn, you just brought me back. I was 15 and my mom has always liked looking at the houses on Dune Rd and we drove out there a few days after that storm and we actually got turned around by the authorities because it was impassable.
  13. The one Nor’easter I’ll never forget was in March of 2010. We were fairly new home owners at the time so I had to officially worry about my property for one of the first times and just remember the howling of the winds and trees down in the area. Iirc, we lost power from Saturday afternoon until some time the next day. I want to say we had some 70mph gusts that evening.
  14. According to NWS, Moses had a wind gust of 60 early Monday morning and Eaton’s Neck had a 57mph gust around the same time but most of the strongest gusts were in the 40-50mph range, even the beaches. JFK’s was 44mph https://partnerservices.nws.noaa.gov/products/cache/286-2025/PNSOKX/74b10c34b8e31e4cc95546e8eacf7578 still gusting in the 25-30mph range by me, but they are getting fewer and further between as the morning progresses.
